I saw this and found it admirable. Patagonia is one of my all time favorite brands. Selfishly, I hope the company doesn't change without the owner at the helm.
I'd say things run a bit small. Which reminds me I will need to lose a few for my coat to fit me for skiing, lol!
One thing that's never announced very loudly (and I think it's still true) is that they have a lifetime guarantee on their products. So as JAileen mentioned, they'll fix or repair anything. The only problem I've ever had was the binding coming off the sleeves and hem of a fleece, but it was super old, so I didn't care.
