1 -- T by Alexander Wang cropped neoprene jacket (Nordstrom). Shown with Just Female basketball shorts (Shopbop).
2 -- Just Female basketball shorts (Shopbop) and Free People cropped top (Shopbop) without the jacket on.

I meant to say in the first post all of these look good on you just sharing what I see & feel Not sure about the AW jacket, outfit #1 doesn't work as well as #2 imo & I'm not sure I like it over the white top either when I love the top on its own in the other post. Just personal preference but I much prefer the proportions of #5 to #4. The basketball shorts are fun.

1. I don't think I'm going to be able to get my mind around the proportions of this jacket. I think this shows now non-fashion-forward I am!

5. I think I'd prefer this jacket with pants that were lower waisted. Again, not fashion forward! (me I mean)

6. I think this outfit looks perfect. Don't know why I like it so much better than the sleeved version.

7. I like the color of the top on you and I think the sleeves make you look waif-like, which is adorable.

1 - Not liking the jacket here Too cropped, too boxy ... Not sure!

2-I like top as well as the shorts. The shorts are fun!

3- Still not liking the jacket

4- How does this look unzipped? It seems to create extra volume around the tummy when you obviously are not broad in that area. I suspect its the quilting creating that effect. Still not sure.

5- Not liking the arms like I said before Too much volume there.

6- I love this! I didn't know the arms could be detached?!

7- I like this one. Looks like a fun top.

1 - I adore the shorts, and I want to love the jacket, but something about the proportions (or perhaps it's the drape?) seems a little off.
2 - Fab cropped top, and excellent colour on you.
3 - Great draped top, I'm also still not completely feeling the jacket.
4 - The bomber is fun. I think I'd prefer it unzipped:-)
5-6 Leather jacket - I'm with Neel on this one
7 - Also great, and another lovely colour on you.

The basket ball shorts are not doing it for me. Are they pleated? I feel they pouf a lot. The brown crop top really is beautiful, just right IMO. I like all the jackets... esp. the one as a vest.

I’m not sure I’m fashion forward enough for the cropped jacket and the basketball shorts. They look like long shorts too me and I don’t like the strings in the front. They just don’t seem intentional enough. I think the neoprene jacket is cool but I’m not sure I love that cropped length with a high contrast top. Of course, I like the conventionally flattering quilted bomber. I like the length and the style a lot but I wonder if it is too conservative for you? I prefer the vest over the sleeved moto jacket. It is JFE to my eye. Fun flared sleeves in 7.

Caro, Adelfa and Neel -- thanks for the feedback on the AW jacket. I love messing with proportions like this, so I love this neoprene jacket. BUT… I think it does not love me back. Lately I have been of the mind of embracing my short torso, curvy hips, etc. with cropped tops, high waisted Mom jeans etc. So I am trying to embrace my body type and going for JFE. But this jacket crosses that line. The model has a long neck, maybe that's the key to pulling off this look.

ETA cross posted with you Inge and Kellygirl. Basically, agreeing with everyone on the AW jacket. It's fun to experiment though right?

#1 & #3 I like the shortness of the jacket and am fine with the middle zip and the neckline is okay. The undefined shoulders and the heaviness of the sleeves compared to the cropped length of the jacket aren't working for me as well though.

#2 not feeling the shorts, but I think I would like shorts like these that were blousy but then tapered a bit at the bottom. The color of the top continues to be great on you and the shape works.

#4 I wish I could see the detail of the quilting on the bomber. It's a classic shape -- but I'm not seeing a huge difference from say a white fleece jacket at a far distance.

#5-6 like this leather jacket more than the others. Really like it without the sleeves, and might like the sleeves more scrunched.

#7 the proportions and cut of this top are perfect and I like the color on you.

The AW jacket is interesting, and almost works, but the proportions are not quite right.
The shorts are probably in style but I'm just not crazy about them.
I like the crop tops, and the Maje bomber, although I would also prefer it unzipped.

In contrast with most opinions, I love the shorts. But, unfortunately they end at a hideous point on my knees. I don't have the worst legs but these shorts make an arrow to my chubby knees. I have thought of sizing up to a medium so they are a bit longer on me.

I really want a pair of black basketball shorts and these were one of the few pair that weren't $400 plus.

1: yes, good try on the jacket. While I don't like it as well as the other jackets here, I wonder if you might try it with a couple of different tops before giving up. I do like the cropped length on you; I think there's something about the two hemlines you've tried it with--dipped in front and straight across. What about a semi-tuck or a high-low top? But maybe that's too much fuss for a jacket; you might need it to be more versatile.
2: like this outfit. I see no chubby knees! If they are just for fun and you're not crazy about the length, though, could you let them down and leave the edge raw? Or could you add a 3" band of black mesh knit to the bottom hem? (I'd do something like that!)
3: love the top, like the jacket, maybe not together though.
4: I really like this jacket on you. The bomber style just looks so fab on you.
5: I like this jacket! I didn't see it before. It's a hard choice between this one and the bomber. I might go for this moto and look for a lighter weight bomber--there was a cute one in linen at Nordstrom (Olivia Moon) that kellygirl was considering. . .
6: another plus for this jacket. Love it as a vest. I really, really like how you've styled the jacket/vest with the higher waisted pants and tucked top. Great look on you!
7: love this top! Fun, different, and looks fab on you. Keep!

Firecracker that's a brilliant idea with the shorts. Here are some more pictures of the shorts.

The first picture is actually an XS, they don't look much different do they? The XS is more snug at the waist and since it's faux leather, that will be sweaty.

The second picture shows the waist (size S) and pockets (I wouldn't wear it with this tank, only if layered).

1, 3- Hmm I think as you said, the jacket is just a bit off. Its use would be limited, might not be worth trying to find those couple outfits it might work. I think you could do better in a cropped jacket.

2- Great tee, great shorts. Could they be pulled down a bit lower for the length you're looking for? I like them at this length. If you sized up to M they're going to be realllyyyyy big, but hey that might be even more authentic looking. I was actually thinking a size down might work better.
EDIT: In those later photos is #2 the same as the one you showed initially? That pair looks great to me!!

5, 6- The forum didn't approve this jacket? I love it! Both as jacket and as vest.

7- WOW love this. If you could keep only one item from both sets, I'd pick this.

Thanks Aida! Yes, the pants shown are the size S. The XS are shown above with the grey top. I can try them pushed down, and see if they stay that way.Things have a way of either riding up high or riding down really low on me. Now if I had washboard abs that wouldn't be the case!

Interesting point about the burgundy top. I wonder if I really could keep only one thing!

I like the S best. I think that low riding shorts would be ideal with these -- that's how they're actually worn, right? For some reason I just love the idea of the shorts behaving entirely as if they were authentic BB shorts... except that they're leather

I like and would steal (to continue the theme from your other post) both white jackets and the last cropped top. Like the shorts on you. Not sold on the cropped black jacket. Bright cropped top looks good too.

OK, I kinda like the basketball shorts -- more than I expected to! And dear Denise, if your knees are chubby... well, I was going to say something about mine, but let's both stop that and be kinder to our knees, deal?

I am not feeling the neoprene jacket, as much as I want to like it. Something about the volume and stiffness just isn't working to my eye.

I like both white jackets, even though I know the convertible one is controversial, I think the roomy fit looks intentional and current, and you wear it well, especially in vest form.

Love the top in the last photo on you! I think that's not the easiest sleeve style to wear, but you pull it off well!

Ok here's a quick gut reaction:
#1 - I quite like the jacket! I like the clean lines, simplicity, and wearability
Basketball shorts - are growing on me with your further pics. I think they can be hugely useful if you think you'll wear them. Kind of fall into the "mom jeans" category, which you clearly can pull off with panache. Yes, these are growing on me.
#2 - great colour
#3 - LOVE
#4 - Gah - LOVE this. More conventional. Actually, for cruise wear I'd take this look over the fanny pack/hat look, but that's just me.
#5 - 6 - Still boxy to my eye - especially the vest but it's the pairing with the pants. I get that this is fashion forward, and I'm feeling that your gut might be wanting you to keep this. Go with your gut. You can rock it.
#7 - love the sleeves and colour. Doesn't look cropped, but it's cute.

My favorite are the shorts! Adore! I do not see chubby knees at all. I am self-conscious about my own knees, so IKWYM, but I think the wide hem distracts from the knees. You could try a bigger size for longer, but these look great!

As for the rest, I also like the maroon t-shirt.

Great haul! That's a lot of shopping!

I really like the shorts all three ways you've styled them--gray sweatshirt, white tank, tank and jacket. I'd go with the small, since they sound more comfy and don't look too big. I really can't tell a difference in the photos. Love the jacket in this outfit! So, I think it just depends on the styling with the jacket, because it looks like a keeper here. I didn't realize the shorts were faux leather--so cool! I think a mesh addition could work at the bottom, but not leaving the edge raw. I really like them as they are, but if you're self-conscious you might not get as much wear out of them without addressing the hem.

I love the basketball shorts. But then I have white leather ones I got from ASOS.
On the fence on the T by Alexander Wang jacket.
Not really a fan of the Free People top.
I do like the A Piece Apart top.

I think most of these pieces are very good ... the best looks overall are those you have styled with an open neck top.... basically that have some of you around the edges as opposed to the whole architectural piece with not much skin.
