Jenni, you were right!

LisaP, interesting! The details have to be right, don't they. I'm fine wearing width on the bottom - my two new pairs of jeans are very wide! Wider on me than on the models in the Finds below. But they have structured waists, don't crease, and are made of substantial fabric. That makes me feel "neat and tidy", IYKWIM

Tanya, that resonates, and I'm not surprised! If these pants weren't as wide, and had a structured waist - they would have felt more right for me. I'm fine to wear a half elastic back too. HIGH FIVE!

This journey of selecting a colour, ordering, trying on, considering, and reconsidering was instructive for me.

When I was younger and just wanted to buy a lot of clothes, I kept a lot of items that were not 'just right.' I didn't think carefully about what went in my closet.

Now that I am older and have more time [and hopefully a smidge more wisdom!] I want to be as discerning as you have shown us here in deciding what actually earns a place in my closet.

It was fun to see everyone weigh in, but ultimately you had to decide.

Loved it ... thanks!

I’m not surprised. My Zara pants look similar to the ones you returned. They are lovely and lightweight (I think they are meant to mimic nylon) but they crease easily and the drawstring waist is tricky. I much prefer my ASOS pair, which are a heavier cotton (more like denim) and have a structured waist. There seems to be lots of styles available now, so no need to compromise!

Thanks for the update! It’s instructive to hear the whole evaluation process.

Oh well- next! Would have been fun to see your outfit lab though!

Okay. Now that citron was decided on (even if they have been sent back), I can now voice my opinion about the orange pants.

With much love and respect,

1. Traffic Cone

2. Prisonwear

3. Devo-esque

^^^ Thanks for the genuine LOL Mary Beth!

sabimct and Rachy, glad to be wiser as we get older

Brooklyn, that constructed waist on your camou ASOS version makes a world of difference to me! If those came in white, or one of my colours - I'd be trying them.

Suntiger, always worth doing a little outfit creation session. Sharpens my tools for my clientele!

Mary Beth, thanks for the giggle

Angie, this white pair from H&M came across my feed today - not sure if you'd want to give them a look? It looks like they have more of a waist.

Thanks, CarolS! I’d prefer wide legs, but these are cute nonetheless
