yesterday I wore my cognac ankle booties with olive straight leg jeans. I wore the jeans rolled just to have about 1 inch of leg showing. They are not long enough for slouch. When I got home I took a good look at this and discovered it was just really off. Now the pants are not wide exactly, just wider than skinnies at the bottom. Then I tried them with the higher shaft booties and it made all the difference.
There has been much discussion on here in the past about pants length, but I am discovering the width at the bottom and the footwear compatability are just as important as the length. The wider olive jeans seem to work only with higher shaft boots, and can work with sneakers without socks,,maybe flats and sandals,, but not with the lower ankle footwear. I am thinking this is something that has to be addressed with every combination of pants and footwear--as not all straight leg jeans or pants are the same width at the bottom, and there are lots of variables in shaft height of boots. This makes for more problems with getting a pleasing look.
