I was not expecting Peach Fuzz to be Pantone color of the year, although I was hoping for a warmer color after a lot of violet, periwinkle, and magenta. There will be no middle ground with Peach Fuzz. You'll either like it or intensely dislike it. I really like the color. It's the only pastel I will wear. Peach Fuzz looks best in a fabrication that has texture or shine. Few, if any, Pantone colors of the year have a big impact at the retail level.

The color of the year often leaves me underwhelmed. Not sure why.

Pantone is not a “thing” in our country, although I might have read the very occasional article about the colour of the year here. We have a NZ paint company called Resene which has sort of captured the home decorating article market and also sponsors some fashion ideas. So they would be more influential than Pantone here.

Not for me. Peach and salmon shades are so hard for me to wear. Too warm, too light. They look pretty terrible in my current house too — lots of warm-toned woods that do not play well with other orangey shades!

I can see the appeal of this color in home decor especially, as it’s a luminous colour. Similar desert southwest vibe to terra cotta shades, but not as earthy/heavy. And it complements chocolate brown nicely, which seems to be the dark neutral of the moment.

Pantone has had some effect. I saw this announcement and thus picked up (at the thrift store) a pair of peach wide leg pants I would have not have otherwise considered .

@ nuancedream - you are right about polarizing! There was quite a debate about ‘Peach Fuzz’ on CBC (public radio) with a fashion/style consultant chiming in.

Well, as we've seen, the Pantone colours of the year seem not to make an impact at retail. I am still waiting for radiant orchid!!

Please forgive me, those who like this colour. I mean -- no colour is bad, per se. Every colour is beautiful, in context, and I am sure this colour will look spectacular on some fabbers and I cheer you on.

But speaking for myself, I feel. a strong and visceral dislike for it, and for me, that is extremely rare. (There are many colours I can't wear that I adore.)

I have always looked horrible in this colour and now even worse with my silver hair. Totally washed out and insipid. Many years ago my ex bought me 3 shirts/blouses as gifts. One was in this colour and he noticed I hardly ever wore it. I did not know why at the time.

Peach is not among the colours that suit me. But a nice, pleasant colour for many people with warm colouring.

Anyway, Pantone does not seem to have much--if any-- influence here in Scandinavia.

I love it!! It reminds me of the 80s, I had a few peach items, either stripes with gray or I'd wear with white. Agree with others that I'm not sure these colours ever make any difference to what's available at retail ... But I will certainly keep an eye out for this colour in makeup for myself.

I gotta admit, it does bring up very strong 80s vibes for me — this color featured prominently in my bedroom decor when I first moved out of my parents’ house. I had a bedspread that was mostly this color with some dusty rose and blue — sort of a watercolor-southwestern thing. It was nice then, but definitely not my thing now.

Flashback! I wore this color to my homecoming dance in tenth grade (1985). It was either Gunne Sax or Jessica McClintock, and was on deep sale, but I was wrinkling my nose because I thought, ‘orange? ew, I can’t wear that color’. But my mom said “just try it on”, and I was very surprised that the color was so good on me.

I’m very glad to see this color make a comeback. Well.. I hope it makes a comeback! I’ve dyed a couple of button-down shirts to a similar hue over the past decade, but with a little more pink. (sadly, the colors eventually faded). I would love a cashmere or merino sweater in this color, to wear with medium-to-dark wash jeans.

I have Tarte eye shadow and L’Oréal peach fuzz lipstick in my daily rotation, and in makeup, I find peach plays really well with coral, warm brown, and pale gold.

I’m with Marty Beth on this one, I like warm peach. I have one purse this color, and that’s about it, so will be happy if it shows up at my preferred retailers.

I love oranges and peaches. If I can find a dark autumn version of it, I will try it, especially as a blouse. The exact color as shown probably wouldn't have enough saturation for me. But I like the vibe of it.

Mary Beth, oh my goodness!!! I had a few Gunne Sax tops by Jessica McClintock in the 90s. I actually didn't like them at the time, sadly. And now, I wish I still had them!! At the time I was too young to appreciate them for all their glory and was too worried about fitting in with the sad trends of the times. PS I have no doubt you were sensational in peach!

Ket, Gunne Sax tops skirts & dresses can be found on ebay! I’m nearing 60 so I resist, but I had a ton of them in my younger days. Love.
Peach is oddly really flattering on me. I have a very hard time identifying good colors on me (maybe there aren’t many, lol), but peach is obviously good. If a deep cool pink makes someone’s face look a little arctic, try peach!

My first reaction to Peach Fuzz was ‘meh’, but then I remembered my high school prom dress (‘78) was peach batiste, and I have two lovely perennials in this colour! Nothing in my closet comes close, but…never say never?!?

For me,this is a decor color only.

Something I learned - when a room is feeling too dainty or saccharine with sweet pastels like this one, add a hit or two of Angie's "warm sour brights" to bring some balance.
