Even though this was released earlier this year, I thought it was a good time to revisit the Pantone color trend chart for Fall 2011. What colors inspire you? How will you wear them? Are you seeing these colors in stores?

I am seeing a lot of teal; that brown; and that purple in stores. I hate teal.

I wear none of those trend colours; I guess I better stock up this summer!

Love them all! The yellow and purple look like Halogen's "raisin" and "purple magenta," both of which I snapped up at the NAS! And I love teal (sorry, lyn*!).

Haven't seen the stores yet, but I know I'll go for the purple. It's a good colour for me personally, whether or not it is on trend!

I looked in my closet.

I have two teal things: one is a scarf and one is a tank top that I wear to bed. At least I'll be stylish if there is ever an apartment fire.

Oooh, I can't wait to get my hands on deep teal and phlox. Both of those are lovely colors I'd love to have more of in my closet.

lyn*, don't feel like you have to jump on these colors just because somebody says they're "trendy": if you don't like 'em, don't wear 'em. Or incorporate them in tiny doses, eg, as a belt or a pendant necklace.

I do like the coffee colour - I believe i have a skirt in that colour.

Pastelly colours look terrible on me; as they don't really play well with my skin tone. Ah well, I hope nice bold colours are coming back in Winter.

I also remember Angie saying that colours within the same family is good too; I love really dark brown!

I would wear all of these, with the exception of the greeny-yellow, in a heartbeat. In fact, most of these colours are already in my closet :). Which means you won't be raiding it any time soon, Lyn? Except if you need pjs :).

I have noticed a lot of teal in the stores, but I haven't been as aware of the other colours here. I'll look more closely next time I'm out!

I was just looking at that earlier this week... I love the teal, bamboo, phlox, and emberglow... trying to choose between dyeing my hair a deeper black or a brighter auburn depending on which of those colors I decide to focus on with my fall/winter wardrobe.

I'm in love with the teal and the purple and am looking forward to seeing them appear in the stores around here (we're usually a bit behind). Teal is one of my best colors, so I need to plan to buy a lot when it's available.

Yesterday, at RW&Co, they had their fall collection with the light purple and the brown, mixed with grey. I think this combination may work for me - now I just wait until they're on sale!

Lyn, I'll be tweaking as well and going within the color families. Citron and Chartreuse instead of the bamboo, for example, and there's no way I'll spend to buy coffee when I already have a bunch of chocolate. I think I did pick up a sweater in that phlox color unwittingly, though. Yay, blind luck!

I adore the Deep Teal and the Phlox. Two of my most favorite colors. =) It is interesting to be reminded of this, as what I see in the stores right now (for example, at NAS) seems to be rather skewed toward dark neutrals.

I'll take lyn's share of the teal! That, and the purple (though a slightly deeper purple's a bit better on me).

I always thought that only my blue-eyed blond mother could wear those lovely cool, deep tones, but in the last year or two I've discovered that, with the right makeup, they can be striking on me, too.

I'm with Lyn about the deep teal. It's an awful color on me. I saw lots of that Orchid Hush in the early summer and wondered who could wear that pinky grey. Actually none of the fall colors except maybe ember glow will work very well for me. I haven't seen anything in ember glow yet. Part of my NAS frustration was finding great pieces that didn't come in any colors I wanted. The bamboo/yellow raisin skirt Halogen skirt is an exception since the color is away from my face. I plan to wear it mostly with grey, black and white, and navy. I've also found a rusty red top in my closet that looks good with it.

I look good in teal but I still have a few lingering pieces from 2005-2006--- I swear I had like 10 teal pieces that year and I am STILL BURNT out. I also feel that way about a dusty coral that was practically all I wore in 2003-2004. I still love coral, but I still avoid that shade.

I really wasn't that excited about the panatone colors this year. I don't look good in the grey-y pastel-y colors. Now, if I find true deep/bright golds and marigolds, dark browns, warm oranges, and olive and foresty greens I would be happy.

Love that teal and the silvery blue! The banana and coral are pretty too, but those don't seem very "fall" to me. Swap the nougat for a more camel color and I'm set ^^

I just posted a "how to wear" guide for these colors that I thought is interesting. There are great suggestions for the harder to wear colors as well as how to "autumn-ize" seemingly spring colors.

Honeysuckle is Pantone's Color of the Year and it was a Spring color as well.

I would easily do the last 7, maybe 8 -- I LOVE these colors! These are my colors! I may have to break with SYC a little bit to stock up. I'm pretty firm that I don't want to break SYC but this is MY palette! Phlox (purple), cedar (olivey), deep teal (LOVE it, Sorry Lyn*), coffee, nougat , orchid and quarry (grey-blue) are perfect colors IMO. I might do some honeysuckle (pink) too, I like it but I tend not to wear colors like that often.
The problem is that though Pantone has released these as the fall colors not all stores will follow through on these choices, as they may have their own palettes.

I like the bamboo and deep teal here, as is. However I've found that the exact tones that pantone puts out don't usually match the clothes in the stores, which can be either a relief or very frustrating.

I don't base the colors I wear on what's "in season," but I do pay attention to which colors are around so that I can stock up on the colors I want. Luckily I have enough mustard and teal that I should be able to keep my SYC through the fall without being too devastated that I'm not stocking up.

I am happy - and have been happy every time I look in a store - to find things that look decent on me. The cedar is maybe a little too much in the cool pastel range for my complexion but otherwise...

there's no way I'm going out and buying those colors simply because designers declare they're the "colors." I wear whatever colors I already have and feel like wearing that morning.

Ecstatic to se purple there!
Red is neutral anyway, so that one does not have to appear on the crat.

I think I have one or two teal-ish pieces.
Everything else are not my colors anyway.

Take out Bamboo, Ember Glow and Orchid Hush and I'm in love.

That Deep Teal is gorgeous (squee!), I love the Quarry, and both of the browns look nicely neutral to me.

Angie usually does a post on the upcoming season's colors. I'm looking forward to her thoughts~
