Pantone Color of 2017 - Greenery

Pantone has recently announced announced the color of 2017, and it is Greenery, a light warm yellow-green shade.

After a couple of years of cool colors of the years, we have a warm one. I have to admit that I personally do not care much for this color, so I am happy to leave it alone. I don't hate it though, I am just not particularly attracted to it and it wouldn't suit me anyway. Normally if there is a warm color I like but can't wear, I try to incorporate it a little through accessories etc. but this time I don't feel compelled to even try to do that. At most I might wear it as a part of pattern on a navy background, but I am not going to search for it unless I stumble upon the perfect piece.

How do you feel about Greenery? Do you plan to incorporate it in your wardrobe?

I wore a lot of this color two or three years ago. I had tees, a couple sweaters, and a Fossil bag. The tees have been relegated to gardening. I still have the bag, though. Now I mostly wear grey and blue. Colorwise, I wear what I like, not what's in style. I guess that's kind of obvious!

WooHoo!!! I am all for warm green. It looks good with my auburn hair... and screams Spring to me. I will appreciate that come February when I am sick to death of dark neutrals. Hope that we soon see this color in retail. Sometimes these Pantone colors of the year never appear on the radar. I can see why this particular shade would not appeal to you as a fair skinned blonde. Perhaps there will be some other Pantone 2017 colors that will float your boat... maybe Pale Dogwood? That blush shade would look lovely on you.

This is actually a color that I really love and wear well - as long as the tone is coming across correctly on my monitor. I can see wearing it especially in spring & summer.

This is one of my toddler's favorite colors.

I used to wear a lot of lime-y greens -- coupled with pinks for a Lilly Pulitzer look, or paired with black for a sort of 80s flavor. But it doesn't really do much for me these days.

I like it a lot. Limey-green is one of my favorite colors. I'm currently knitting a scarf in a very bright yellow-green.

It's not my favorite type of green either. I prefer (and wear) emerald and mint.

Green is my favourite color, but this shade doesn't speak to me. Come summer I may change my mind though.

This is one of those colors that I like and would probably look okay on me but I know I won't wear it. I can never figure out what to pair this shade of green with, except white. Black is too stark, grey too muddy, and I don't wear a lot of brown or tan.

Hmm, no, it's not really floating my boat either. I like a lot of greens, but this one is too saturated and yellowy for me.

I like it (I love most greens) but not necessarily to wear. I look better in cooler greens.

Hmm, not a favourite, but it does have possibilities as an accent with the ink blues, navies, and charcoals in my wardrobe. I could also see it being an interesting accent with mustard and white in summer.

Green is my favorite color in the world. Despite how much I love it, green does not appear in my wardrobe. I use it for furnishings only. This color of green would not be a first choice though.

This is a great colour for me, but hard to find. I just retired my lone granny apple green sweater (worn out).

I love it. As a midtone warm green, it should be a good color and my wardrobe is greatly lacking in greens. It should work well with summer clothes, coral and turquoise, orange and light grey.

I learned to never say never with Pantone colors after marsala. When marsala was first announced I found it so bland and uninteresting and by the end of the year I was buying everything in that color and still am.

In general I find very little clothing in ANY shades of green. For example, I looked and looked for interesting green cashmere sweaters for over two years and finally began buying men's cashmere sweaters on eBay...until this winter when some decent olives and dark hunter greens came around. (Thank you Boden and Uniqlo)

I enjoy this green but, for me, it will need to be made up in really high quality fabrics. Otherwise I feel strange in a color that's this bold.

My home is full of lots of greens and I really love to mix them all -- been a fan of this look since the 70's. Possibly reminds me of my grandmother's home...

I used to have a blazer close to this color that got lots of compliments because the color worked on me. It's not my favorite color, but I'm pretty neutral on it, so if the right thing came along I'd be ok with it.

To me it's an apple green. Like a Granny Smith. I do like it if it stays short of getting too yellow-y and lime-y. I always used to be tempted by that color when I was painting bedrooms

I don't think I look particularly good in that color. I could see people like Angie rocking it. Great color for blondes. I will enjoy it on you all.

Honestly, Pantone and the color of the year don't mean much to me because they never pick any colors I like to wear except for that one year that they picked "iris blue". Like, I wish they'd pick "dirt" or "this is what a white shirt looks like after Cindy wears it for 3.2 seconds" or "these pants were blue until somebody got messy with the bleach"
I'd even be happy with "nuclear winter sky grey"

But NOOOOOOOO, it has to be "greenery", and greenery is green, which is never flattering on me if it's anywhere near my face. So I guess I'll Just have to be out of fashion with my dirt colored pants and my "this is what a white shirt looks like after Cindy wears it for 3.2 seconds" shirt LOL

It's just shy of being the slightly yellower green I love and wore a lot when I was younger and it was more available. These days I'd be looking to wear it in a pattern, textured etc - probably not full-on flat, solid pieces for me. I'm taking full advantage of the green trend in kitchen accessories and other decor items, however.

I would be surprised if I buy much in this color -- maybe as a pair of canvas sneakers paired with navy shorts...something like that. My history of this color pegs it as "preppy". That combined with my coloring makes me think it won't tempt me much. We'll see....

I am very happy to see Pantone has chosen a really positive color like this. I have a puffer that's very close to this color, and every time I put it on I feel uplifted.
