Pant length okay? - YouLookFab Forum

These two pairs of pants were thrifted. I really like them both, but I'm not sure about length. I was wearing the Jones New York pair and someone said I had lost bottom of my pants. Huh??? Anyway, I thought I'd find out what the collective wisdom here thinks. Do the pants look okay?

1. AT Loft striped pants, charcoal Eddie Bauer favorite sleeveless bateau top (Angie recommended), Birkenstocks
2-3. Jones New York Sport olive pants, Nic + Zoe Promenade Asymetrical top, EF Spell sandals.
4. Closeup of Loft pants - I love the stripes!
5. Closeup of EF sandals. I just sprayed them yesterday and haven't actually worn them yet. I haven't worn the N+Z top yet either. It just got hot here. In real life I would probably add an interesting necklace to the outfit in 2-3.

I think all the pant lengths are fine and your best bet is to ignore the people in the peanut gallery.

I love outfit #1! A great silhouette on you (top to bottom). I hope you can repeat in different coloura because you look great. For going out, I suggest a necklace or cuff to complete the outfit.

ETA: Never ignore Angie on pant length though!

What great finds! I really like the green pants with the white top, very nice breezy look. And the shoes are just right. I think the lengths look fine. They could both be a tad bit shorter but they wouldn't have to be (and it might be more trouble than it's worth).

I like both outfits a lot! I think the lengths look great on both pants. On the first pair, I would consider removing the cuff and hemming to the length where you've got them now, because I think it might look more current. I just don't think I've seen cuffs like that recently on that syle of pant, but I may be out of the loop. I'm with you--I really like those stripes! And the olive pants and drapey asymmetrical top with the high-vamp sandals is a look after my own heart.

I agree with Robin love the fit of both on you the length not so much. Just a smidgen. But what do I know? I want to roll them or cut the bottom. Tell the person that suggested that to go and find them for you.

I agree with Firecracker. These are both great outfits. Really love the new Nic and Zoe top -- that's beautiful. The EF sandals look great, too.

Smittie, thanks! I bought a bunch of the same top in charcoal, white, and aqua. I like the top because it's not low in the front, and looks feminine, but not overly so.

Firecracker, thanks! I'm flattered that you like the second outfit, since I love your style so much. I have no idea how old the striped ones are, so it's no wonder you haven't seen cuffs like that for awhile. The cuff is sort of fake, so I'll have to think this through.

Suz, thanks! I bought a bunch of N+Z stuff this spring and ended up returning all of it except this top. Although it looked awful with the skirt, I thought the length would work with pants.

Both lengths look good to me, and I agree with Sharan that removing the cuff and hemming to the same length on the first pair would also work (though sounds tricky with the faux cuff?). I'd like to see that first pair with more trendy/dainty/edgy shoes like the second pair, though. Whole second look is stellar!

Good thrifting skills! One more vote for removing cuff, and, perhaps, tapering the hems a bit. Love the stripes, and the simple modern look of look #2!

I have 2 pairs of pants that are that length, but they are tighter on the leg than yours. I wondered if maybe they were too long, but in the end I decided to leave them as is for now. To my eye, they look good. I'm glad to see that other YLF'ers think that length is fine.
