Pale blue in retail for 2020?

While perusing the Resort and Spring/Summer runway photos in order to get a feel for what might be trending in the new year, I noticed a colour trend. Several designers created monochromatic outfits in pale blue, or what was sometimes referred to as ‘faded denim’.

I have one sweater in this colour, and it is a favourite - v -neck, 3/4 sleeves, and some cashmere in the mixed fabric. I considered matching, very faded, full leg cropped jeans from Top Shop this fall, but they didn’t have my size. The colour was referred to as ‘bleach wash’ and was VERY pale blue. I wonder if this colour will show up at retail?

I've seen much more blue items coming this week in Lucky Brand however it looked like there was more brighter blue color ( love "baby blue" or pale blue like your sweater ).

This blue has a dusky quality. I like it. Will be interesting to see if it shows up. I’m shopping now. Can’t say I’ve seen any of this blue. But last days before Xmas... it’s all Rudolph socks...

I remember the whole French Vogue contingent wearing light denim for Fashion Week...was it last year? I think we're going to be seeing more of it in the mainstream.

@slimcat - I like those cropped jeans (#2) but showing N/A

@racheylou - I often feel that pastels crop up in spring, well, just because spring - you know? However, the amount of this blue, without pink, yellow, or mint, seemed striking.

@Angie - doesn’t red go with everything?

That shade of light blue is so soothing and I hope it shows up at the retail level along with Classic Blue. I'm on the hunt for a structured light blue handbag because it has seasonless versatility.

Oh yay, I love this and I hope lots of it shows up from spring and summer! Oddly, I don't love it on denim for me personally - although never say never - but it is one of my favourite colours for tops.

I have a similar color in a pair of skinny jeans from a couple of years ago. I can imagine the light blue looking really great with all of your red (those flare jeans and your amber plaid shirt!)

I've been really into a purplish light blue this year-maybe not exactly the color you're talking about, but close. It might be the overall best color for my cool-summer coloring. I have a whole capsule of it now...

I love that soft, icy blue and would definitely wear it. As a matter of fact, just yesterday I ordered some jeans in a very pale blue to try. That color would look gorgeous on you, Runcarla, with your hair, eyes, and skin tone.

That colour is close to my best blue ever, but not quite. I like a clear robin's egg blue with no greying.

I think that used to be a very good color on me, but as my hair and skin are faded, deeper blues seem a bit better. I will be giving it a shot though!

I like that blue too. In 2014 I bought some secondhand gloves at Art Deco weekend that fit my tiny hands perfectly. I later found one glove was faded so I bought some dye to correct it. I had a fantasy of dressing up to go to the races, Fashion in the Field or something similar. ( Have never ever been to the races!!).
So since then I have idly kept my eye out for a dress or shoes or hat in this colour but seen very little! I’m aware the whole idea is really a fantasy...
Luckily the gloves and even the dye didn’t cost much!

I like the first outfit a lot, but will leave it to the fair-cool toned ladies and gents.
If I wore that color, people would ask me if I had "bad news from the doctor"...

I am already seeing this color at retail. If it is icy enough, I can wear it though warm colors look best. I recently found a mesh top in a floral with pale blue and black and a bit of light grey. I hope to wear it with black or white jeans.

Oh dear, when this color shows up en masse at the retail level, I am going ballistic with the shopping. I love the icy feeling of it and it would totally work with my style moniker, so I must have all the pieces in this color
