When I get my next pedi at the salon, I'm going to ask the beautician to do it.

Toenails or fingers, NPM? A while back I saw a girl who'd done her big toes in a different colour than the rest. Now I can't for the life of me remember which colours she used, but I do remember loving it.

Keep us posted on how you like the results?

My 8yo daughter often asks me to do her toenails in a rainbow--red, orange, gold, green, blue--with red on each big toe!

I don't do this, but my daughter does. I often see a two colored effect on women with long nails here- 3 fingers in one color, two in another with the colors alternating.

I see it quite a bit here with designs. So one nail will be rectangle another flowers and so on. I also see triple repeats....yellow, blue, green, yellow, blue, green.

I think it is a great way to go for a pedi.

Personally, I am VERY basic. Maybe nude on the hands and red on the feet. I have just never had an experimental nature.

I like it if it's an ombre effect in the same color family, otherwise all diferrent colors looks too juvenile. OTOH, over last weekend I did my manicure with mint green on all but my ring fingers, which were a corally orange, then a coat of clear with a few silver sparkles over top. It was a really fun one, and I got many compliments. I cheaped out on the mint green and used a fast dry formula which didn't last the week without chipping.

The kids (both boys & girls) at my daughter's preschool used to do this -- 16 years ago. Sometimes they used felt tipped markers, non-toxic of course.

on the hand, i would paint 9 nails 1 color then the ring finger on one hand a different color or with a special effect nail color like sparkly or crackle or checkerboard...

on the feet, same thing.

i'm a bit conservative after all.

I've done this when younger. Two adjacent nails (ring and middle, or middle and index) in one colour, the other three a second colour. I've alternated colours too, but wasn't so keen on the outcome. I've also done all different colours and textures, which can be fun with a very plain monochromatic outfit.

Recently, I've seen French manicures of clear/nude varnish with rainbow-coloured tips. Fun! I also saw a version in all-colour, where this lady had used glossy blue-black and matte green --- one hand was green with blue-black tips while the other was blue-black with green tips. Interesting!

I once was unsure which color to wear since I loved all the nail colors, so just out of confusion painted all my (finger) nails with different colors and they looked like a rainbow. Couldn't be more happy at my new discovery

I used to wear this look all the time completely unintentionally!

A couple of years ago I was manager of a spa and when our Jessica nail rep came in she would paint each of my nails in a different colour to showcase the seasons new colours. I used to look a bit weird in spa reception with a black business suit and multi coloured pastel or neon nails but I loved the comments it would generate! It usually sold some nail polish too!
