packing help!

I am going to Los Angeles...tomorrow! Any suggestions on what to wear, especially weather-wise? I know the temp drops at night, but would cropped pants, etc. still be OK? All suggestions welcome!

It's been back and forth a bit, but definitely cold on a lot of days- and there's rain coming. I'd stick to long pants, layers, and a waterproof topper.

I think I mentioned this when I saw you last weekend, but when I was in the LA area over the holiday it was on the chilly side and rained a bit. I think the coldest nights were in the upper 40's. I mostly just wore jeans (I like to bring ones that I can either cuff up or wear full length depending on weather) and closed toe shoes (I brought some mid calf boots and some sneakers). And definitely layers, something like a blouse + cardi/jacket (plus a lightweight (for us) outdoor jacket, such as a wind/water resistant trench). Depending on where you are the temps can drop 30 degrees overnight. I also like to bring dresses or skirts along with leggings (or tights if you prefer) - if the weather permits I wear them bare legged with boots, otherwise I wear them with the leggings.

It looks like rain. By the windy downtown buildings in LA for cultural events or within a mile of the beach, I usually freeze with that damp marine influence. Along with many others, I wear a (nice) parka to dinner in Santa Monica or an outdoor cafe for lunch or coffee. I'd recommend layers and ankle boots. Have fun!

thank you all! It is still supposed to be dry and sunny for the time that I'm actually in LA, but I will be wearing my trench just in case. This is what I packed, leaving tonight and coming back Monday, so only three full days in LA and Monday travel to pack for.

1 pair of GF jeans
one dress with tights to go with it
1 silk tee, 1 t-shirt, 1 athletic shirt (for hiking)
1 knit blazer
1 pair walking sneakers
1 pair suede ankle-strap shoes

and for the flight today, I'm wearing: a silky bomber jacket, a silk popover top, velvet jeans, a cami, and oxfords.
