Hi ladies, I'm on to the planning step for my Las Vegas conference. It's going to be business casual, and I'm OK with being on the casual end of that (i am in IT, after all!).

  1. The first look was the first thing I thought of, but it's more fitted than I'm used to wearing, as my weight is up at the moment. Linen flares, platform wedge sandals, linen blouse. This would only work during the day when I'm mostly in meetings as I wouldn't want to walk too much in these shoes (they're fine up to an mile, I think).
  2. Blue cotton oversized blouse, white skinnies OR white teddies, royal blue and white sandals (United Nude, quite comfy).
  3. Zara blue & white striped emboridered shirt with white teddies and mustard peep-toe wedges. These would also be day-only shoes.
  4. Red loose polyester blouse with white teddies and either black and white Everlane sneakers or white flatform espadrilles. I think the sneakers might rub after a lot of walking. I like this for Vegas but also a little worried about the polyester blouse (although it is loose).
  5. Oversized white shirt, cropped flare black jeans, flatform sneakers or one of the other shoe options.
Other outfits I will probably bring will include an off the shoulder white blouse and cutoff shorts + slides/birks (last phot) for hanging out by the pool/touring (no way in hell will I wear a bathing suit around my co-workers! LOL)

I ultimately need to dress for:

  • Airport + day at conference - this will include going outside a lot, luggage management, etc, plus sitting a lot in meetings. Needs to be the most comfy, preferable footwear with socks for the airport.
  • Evening event(s)/dinner with colleagues - I haven't even thought about this; was considering just bringing a dressier blouse and using one of the pairs of trousers.
  • Full day at conference
  • Possible outdoors downtime at the pool or on the strip - I don't gamble but reading by the pool sounds lovely. No idea if I'll actually have downtime.
  • Full day at conference + return flight

My thought was the white shirt+black jeans could be my day 1 outfit with low socks and the black and white sneakers. The linen flares and blouse could be day 2 - although it's the least comfortable, so maybe the red blouse outfit instead? and the oversized blue blouse with the teddies could be for the last day and flight home. I will probably bring both the white jeans and the teddies both, in case the teddies get stained.

For the evening, I have this lovely sleeveless Vince dress in white that I was thinking of bringing. I would wear it with ankle strap black sandals, on it's own without the turtleneck or vest, and bring a black moto jacket to wear over it in the a/c. I will need to try a couple of dresses. I have a lavender one and matching linen sweater that would work over white skinny jeans maybe for day instead of the too-tight outfit, although that would also be on the casual side.

Reactions/suggestions/thoughts welcome! My top priority is to feel like myself and be comfortable. I don't want to fuss with my clothes but I also don't want to be the sloppiest person of our team!
