I am having a hard time deciding on my skirts. I know I won't wear as many in Tahoe, but I hesitate to purge too quickly.
This one I am really torn on. It's a jersey knit by Leifsdottir that has drapey panels sewn into it. I can see it over tights with a chunky sweater. It does creep a little, but I think tights would remedy that. But then, how many black skirts does a gal need? http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-challenge

I''m not sure about this skirt with tights... because of the length it looks dressy and nighttime to me, and I think tights and a chunky sweater might do it a disservice. I would need to see a WIW to be certain though.

T by Alexander Wang has been doing a similar skirt. So I vote Yay. Plus it'd work with your shearling jacket

I don't have any other pic Una - maybe I'll have to play dress up. It is stretchy jersey knit, so I don't find it 'fancy' really.
Anna, I think that's the skirt Denise just got? I voted a yay for her lol. Maybe I need to think of the question for myself as I would a stranger and not as 'me'. @@

Can you post a close up pic of the skirt? I'm having a hard time seeing the details? Is it tiered?

I added a quick pic Una - it is sort of draped in tiers but not actually tiered if that makes sense. TBH, it had ruffles along every few 'tiers' as well that I cut off - too busy!

Oh, okay - that looks more casual than I thought. I'd give it a try, though jersey and tights = serious creepage! Does it have a lining? That would be great.

yes, it's lined with self fabric. I think it's small enough I'll just pack it in with the bunch. I did toss an Old Navy black jersey skirt I also got this summer into the purge pile, so I'm getting somewhere . . . .

I'm torn. I love it in theory. (Just as I love Denise's skirt and even put one in my shopping cart, not that I have pulled the trigger, LOL.) BUT I do worry about tights creepage. This is the bane of my own existence with certain types of jersey skirts. But it doesn't happen with all of them, so worth trying out, I think.

Purging for the sake of purging is not fun to me. Are you "out of love" with it? I think your wardrobe is small enough now. Keep it.

I vote to try it out with the tights and see how you feel about it. I quite like the skirt so will be interested to see if it works out for you

Keep. I have always liked that skirt in general and think it looks really good on you. I'm not sure it would work with tights but they do have summers in Tahoe too, right!?

I vote keep, it's absolutely worth trying with tights+boots. Plus is looks amazing on you

Well, that skirt certainly shows your enviable figure to advantage. It does look a little on the dressy side. I vote keep, and try with tights -- didn't Angie post something a while ago about dressing down fancy pants or skirts with a sweater? It's a nice skirt, and worth experimenting with a bit more before you give up on it.

My opinion - If you love it, keep it & try to style it otherwise let it go.

Things should be purged when they no longer fit, when the thought of wearing them makes you miserable, when they are wearing out, when they are hopelessly dated, or when the closet is getting out of control. I don't see the point of purging just to purge.

I know you're moving again, but do you have so many clothes that you have to severely cull the herd for practical reasons?

I have decided to keep. JR, it's not so much purging just for the sake of it, but lifestyles are very different from one place to the next, not to mention climate. It's like 9 months of summer here and 9 months of winter there. Directly opposing temps and clothing needs. I want to bring what I will wear, but not bother with dragging along a dozen skirts if I only need 8, you know?
I did purge this Old Navy black skirt (see pic) - it just never wowed me, although it did the trick allowing air flow for walks in the heat. I see no need for it in my limited skirt wearing environment in the Sierra Nevadas

I think this is fab, and would work really well with tights and a chunky sweater! I'm so glad you're keeping. I love this brand, too...

Mo, I'm late here but I think the skirt is gorgeous and it fits you beautifully. I would keep and try as you suggest. This would be a workhorse in my wardrobe and can be dressed up or down. Definitely worth keeping.
