Oy, I should stay away from BR: Plaid trench!

A LIGHT neutral trench is on my list but I have not found style or length or color. So basically, nowheresville.

But check out this plaid one. I've avoided solid black or navy. Too flat and draining.
The plaid really changes that, and the texture also.

I blame Marilyn for showing the plaid blouse that matches my skirt, and there were other items, so I searched for plaid.
elpgal, I may have to choose how I'll wear it the most. I ordered size S, but in store the XS fit really trimly if not trying to layer over something bulky. I think that is often the way of outerwear for me. I will compare soon and see.

Nice find! I love the unexpected plaid and texture, and that it's still so subtle. It will work over other patterns, I think, too.

That's great! I hope it works out. I always have that same dilemma about smaller or larger sizes depending on what I wear under it. I usually go for the larger size for ease, but people say I should size down. Hard to decide.

Oh sure! Blame Marilyn! LOL
I actually ordered that trench as well. It's lovely and very well made. I ended up not keeping it. Not sure what was off for me.....maybe the length. It's sort of an in between length....not short, not to the knee. Also, I bought the short navy peplum trench last year so really don't need it.
Definitely try it though. It's a great piece and it's getting rave reviews.

I tried it on in the store and loved it but the fit was off... the medium was too small and the large too big. The matching pants fit perfectly but unfortunately I couldn't take the feel of the fabric on my legs.

Marilyn, I hope you know I was just kidding! I am glad you alerted me to the other lilac plaid items but it is prolly too late for me. I actually ordered the popover top but it is likely the wrong size, but was the closest left. Immediately after I did, it was entirely sold out!
IKWYM about the length. One reason I've not bitten in a " real" trench" is I want true knee length. This may help me define my size/ fit because I do make use of " parking lot coats" and these do not have to layer over polar outfits.

FYI....The popover fits a bit snug across the upper back. Not a deal breaker for me. I like that the fit is slimmer.

This coat is really nice. I was telling myself I was lucky that my size was sold out, and then I noticed it wasn't. And I started buying it. I got to the credit card part when I can to my senses. Really, I already have a dark blue raincoat. And I live in a desert. I don't need a trench! But it is really nice.

This looks like the perfect trench for your next trip. It makes a statement yet won't show grime as much as a light coat would. Plaid could be part of your statement style

I bought it and love it....it is a great neutral and won't get dirty like beige.
The temps here dropped into the teens so I am still waiting to wear it.
Navy is a neutral for me so I will not wear it with dark jeans but everything else is a go....esp white jeans!
