These are the ones I started out with and decided the black and white was too theatrical for me...

Here are my considerations:

The same shoes in solid black patent:

Good: Black without being boring, boyish, broguing, and I have already tried them so I know how they fit
Bad: I have black patent oxfords. That's an awfully specific style to replicate.

Good: They are a more subdued version of the ones I got
Cons: They have a leather lining but synthetic upper--which is just odd. I don't know if they'll be stretchy enough to accommodate my numerous foot deformities. The gray is also light and may still be too much contrast.

Good: broguing is present, cute style
Bad: Well, this isn't "bad" so much as different: They're definitely more girly than what I expected.

Good: They have Angie's comfort approval, broguing
Bad: Not a fan of the lacelessness...although Zappos shows them with laces so I'm confused. Again, they're girly.

I think you should skip adding another black patent oxford. Of the options you give, I vote for either the UO ones or the Steve Madden laceless. One of the nordstrom site reviews mentions the Steve Madden one comes with laces, so it sounds like you can add them if you prefer that over the laceless look.

I would not get another black patent pair Maya, since you already have one.

I really like black.grey Miz Mooz ones and Steve Madden ones from the YLF store. I believe I read somewhere that SM ones come with laces but they can be worn both with and without them.

I'm slightly confused. If you already have black oxfords, why do you need another pair?

Are the ones you have too plain? Or are you specifically looking for another color? Do you wear the ones you have? If not - why? What purpose will another pair serve that the ones you already have do not? Can we see an outfit with the ones you already have?

The ones I have are very lightweight and not that sturdy, and they don't have any broguing. They also don't look great with jeans and the mouth gapes weirdly around my foot. You can't tell so much with hose or with leggings, but with jeans or when my foot is bare, they look a bit silly.

Originally I didn't want another black pair, which is why I bought the black and cream Miz Mooz, but they were too dramatic and I don't feel comfortable with the style. Angie explained the cream is probably throwing off the bookending with my hair.

You did see an outfit with the ones I already have. I wore them to the YLF gathering.

Either the SM or the UO ones win my vote. I happen to like the brownish color, it helps the shoe convey this really cool menswear vibe. The black are great too, if you are looking to supplement / replace what you already have.

I think you can put laces on the SM if you want. You can always call Nordies to confirm.

Oh, okay Maya! I thought the ones you wore at the gathering looked great with those leggings - but now you're looking for a pair to wear with jeans ... maybe a stronger heel profile, and more broging, or some other detail. Hmmm ...

I think you should stick with the ones you already have. ;p I know it's a waste of money if you won't wear them, but have you studied the pictures of yourself? They do not at all look clownish to me and I am taking into account your style persona when I vote for them. If I can get over my discomfort, I'm pretty sure you can too.

Otherwise, I say another two tone pair, or brown. Black and masculine seems like masculine times 2.

I'm sticking to my guns. Keep the Miz Mooz Histerics. Perhaps get them in chestnut?

Those were the ones I got. I raved about them after the first time I tried them on, but ever since I have been second guessing them.

I think I'd rather get a cheap version of the black and white shoes to try Angie. For $90 I'm too insecure in them.

I like the Histerics in chestnut, FWIW.

The UO in black remind me of "jazz" tap shoes. Not in a good way. In the taupe color they're cute, but it sounds like you are looking for black?

I'm a little prejudice against the SM because I tried them and they did feel like they'd fall off my feet...I did not realize they came with laces...but again, in black there's that "jazz" look. I prefer the menswear bent with oxfords, rather than the tap school look.

ETA - I like the MM Blair pair in grey/black...It's nice that they're suede. I find suede shoes very comfy.

OH, my, I had a flash back to highschool pep club with the burgundy/cream pair. They were part of our uniforms...early 60's. I vote for chestnut which should still look great with your black or with jeans, although I really like the black/white style and think you will adjust to it. Maybe you can add some white/cream to your outfit in the form of a scarf or beads when you wear them.
