I like all the sizes in their own way. Different fits for different moods!

I like the size 6 because you added structure to the sleeves. I don't think it would look as nice without that styling detail.

TRY IT IN PINK

I like the 6 in the white most too. If you can't find the 6 in pink, keep the 4.

I was in COS yesterday for the first time, and they had some very intentional oversized shirts. I think closer to the look you are going for. I’m not home, so I had to copy the link:

I like the 6 the best.

Another vote for the 6. Hope you can get it in pink!

Ooh, I like the COS shirt! Of your choices, I like the size 6 in pink or white.

I had that Cos shirt on my wishlist but decided it would be too long on my short legs - more dress length. I went to a Cos store last month when I was traveling and they didn’t have my size but I held it up in the mirror for a vague sense of it. Still, maybe I’ll order it to try. Meanwhile I’m stalking the Everlane shirt. The store inventory still says they have it at our store but it was nowhere to be found.

I like the white 6 with rolled sleeves, but I think that white shirts allow more leeway in styling, for some reason- perhaps the neutral classic aspect.
I like the pink 4 and would hang on to it if you have enough return window until you see if 6 available . It may depend on whether you are saying, “ I only wear oversized shirts. or maybe only want new purchases to be oversized “ vs. , “i wear mostly button- front shirts and I want a selection of silhouettes and colors in them” .
For some wardrobes, a particular COLOR item is essential for easy outfit creation ( tops or pants or footwear) , so the color item is “duplicated” but in different sizes or fits to give variety.

I finally managed to nab the pink shirt in size 6, right at the end of my return window! I love it. So the smaller sizes went back.

I might also buy the white version when it comes back in stock, because my older white oxford is getting a little yellow in the collar. I like oxford shirts better than poplin for some reason.

I much prefer the size 6. It’s the only one that looks intentionally oversized.

That is so cool that you got the 6 in pink and love it. I am curious about wearing men's shirts as you mentioned you do this too. I have been thinking about borrowing some of my DH's unworn ones. Do you wear yours as oversized as well or as a neater fit?

Good job getting the 6... I was going to chime in with another vote for it!

But I was wondering if the problem all along is that you forgot the #1 rule for trying button downs... if you are going to wear it with sleeves rolled, you've got to try it that way before judging the look! It's amazing how, well, buttoned up, they can look before you start injecting your own style.

Star - I go up one size in men's shirts so that they're intentionally oversized. My usual women's size is XS, and my men's oxford shirts (from Everlane and Uniqlo) are size S. The smaller sizes catch on my hips, especially slim cuts. The larger size looks more intentional, as long as I roll the sleeves up.

Men's shirts match my shoulder proportions better than women's, so if it weren't for the too-long sleeves, I'd prefer them.

Greyscale: Have you tried having a tailor take up the sleeves? I have had this done on both my shirts and my husband’s when everything is great but the sleeve length.

Greyscale : Thanks, that makes sense. I have one men's shirt that I bought for myself and it is my size and a little more snug on the hips then I like for the oversized look, and I don't have any hips to speak of (I am more a rectangle or apple shape depending on my weight). I am going off to experiment in DH's closet Your 6 fits exactly how I would like mine to. What shape bottoms do you plan on wearing with it?

I wore it yesterday with straight leg jeans that are relatively slim above the knee. I think it would work with any of my straight or slim-straight jeans. I’ll have to see it with skinnies (if the shirt is long enough and the skinnies are relaxed, but I haven’t been wearing skinnies much) or really baggy jeans (might be overwhelming) or wide leg or barrel jeans (proportions might be off).

I wear jeans most of the time but I could imagine this shirt with loose gray trousers…

Bumping this old thread because they just came out with this shirt in pale pastel green - dream come true! Reliving my preppy youth.

I ended up with this shirt in size 6, both white and pink, and I wear both very often. Question: if I want to go for a standard/relaxed look rather than oversized for the green one, is the size 2 in my original photos too big? Or maybe it’s perfect aside from slightly long sleeves? I’m trying to avoid ordering three different sizes at once!

I think the 2 is a more relaxed fit than standard. Why not do your usual size, and let the shirt’s style/cut/sizing take care of the rest?

I don’t think I’d go any smaller than 2

I like the 2 on you. It looks relaxed but not oversized.

Size 2 in the original set of pics is a dead right size for a relaxed fluid look. My shirts fit like that - although my Summer linen shirts are oversized. I like both fits! The relaxed fluid fit is more professionally polished. The oversized linen shirts I wear for SUPER casual.

The new seafoam colour caught my eye too! I definitely don’t need anymore button front shirts, so I’ll live out my preppy dreams vicariously. I agree that the 2 fits great if you want a not-oversized but not-too-tailored look.

Ooh, funnily enough I’ve been eyeballing some oversized button down shirts.
I hope the sea foam works out.
I’d be all over that if it were available in my size
I gonna look at the pics again
ETA I like the 4, I think if the cut were slightly different the 6 would be great.

Thanks for the perspectives! I just ordered the 2. Will report back. And LaPed, yeah, I wear button downs almost every day but this might hit a limit on how many I can own at once!

This oversized shirt has an interesting longer tail in back and they have set the sleeves up in a good way for choices in how to roll with structure. It comes in a bunch of colors.

I'm glad you got a pink in the 6. It seems perfect for you since you have white.. I encourage you to try the light blue in a six. This seems like a signature style for you.
