Oversized Denim Jacket ?

I know many of you have a poison eye for oversized denim jackets. Angie did a blog post on this so I know this for a fact This is the Leith jacket in Medium and Small (left to right) that was on mega sale. I am keeping one of them so you can't talk me out of it--I'm just wondering if I should go for deliberately oversized or just oversized. I didn't style them--I was hoping that you could just give a quick look and let me know if you had a preference. Thanks in advance!

This looks very "Kelly". I'm wondering if it's best to go deliberate (medium). Too bad Angie is so busy - it would be good to hear her opinion on this one.

I would go for deliberately oversized. Not the best judge here, though.

Thanks, Joy and sarah! My non-NAS orders have been trickling in. I feel like my style is shifting towards sporty casual these days because of footwear limitations. I love the jackets--I thought the small was a no brainer when I first got the medium but now that I see them side by side I think that the medium looks more deliberate. Of course, my fashion radar is a mess these days. I don't trust myself!

I like the medium, it does look more purposeful. I want an oversized leather moto in black myself.

I am conflicted. The smaller size appeals to the neat and organised side of me ie. logic tells me that is the correct fit for you, but the larger size appeals to my fashionista side as I think it looks 'cool' and deliberate it's in oversizedness, making it more fashonable... does that make any sense?

@Deborah: Thank you. I understand perfectly! That is exactly what I'm conflicted about too. I've been studying Angie's post and that makes me think deliberate is the way to go but then the neatnik in me thinks I should wear a jacket that fits. I don't think I am fashion forward enough to really make this look cool but I love it and I'm all about comfort clothes these days!

Oh, my poison eye is twitchy. I'm not sure what to say - but if I had a preference, I think the smaller one looks a bit better, but I think I'm only saying that because I want the jacket to be fitted. Have you ever tried scrunching the sleeves?

I like both too. The deliberate with chunky knits underneath will also look great.

I like the smaller one. I grew up in the 80s and I totally get oversized appeal! I used to wear my dad's sweaters in high school...

I love the colour on you, Kelly. I am not sure about which size. They both look pretty deliberate to me, but how about layering a bit to see whether that's true with more on?

I like it! I prefer the smaller one on you- it still looks oversized, but not sloppy.
I think it would look great with the sleeves scrunched.

I am really not sure on this trend. I like the smaller one better, but that could just be my poisoned eye to the trend in general. So, not listening to my eyes, my head tells me that the medium is better as it is more deliberate looking.

Uh oh, the votes are evening up! I’m going to try styling it today--the way I am hoping to wear it. That may help sway me towards one size or the other. Stay tuned.

@Jj: I think I can layer under both. The true test will be the Gap sweater. I will try that today. Thanks for chiming in!

@Dana: Thanks. I’m an 80’s girl myself--this jacket is much softer and drapier than the one I had back in the day.

@Suz: Will do. You are the voice of reason. I will do a bit of layering and styling today--hopefully that will decide for me.

I like medium (like others said, more deliberate) but I want it to be more cropped.
