over-sized watches?

I remember wearing huge watches in high school--Swatches, anyone?--but don't know if it's something that's done now. My hubby found a gorgeous silver Fossil men's watch with a blue face that I love. But I'm little and don't want to look silly. Is it something I could get away with since I like a bit of edge, or should I give it to my oldest son for Christmas? I won't be offended so feel free to tell me the truth!

I own two very nice lady's watches bought by my husband many years ago, and this is what I wear. I am tall but I am happy to wear them because they are classics. That said, wear the Fossil and if you are not happy with it after a while, give it to your son.

I love the look of oversized watches. I have a petite friend who wears men's watches beautifully. I think they are quite popular now. Angie may be an expert on this!

I think it has to do with a general sense of proportion. You can certainly achieve a great over-sized look that remains proportional in relation to your body. Sounds worth playing around with before passing it on.

I love large watches. I wear very little jewellery or accessories so I like my watch to double duty as jewellery too.

It does seem like bigger watches are coming back around. I've been wearing a couple of Zodiac Sea Dragon watches (one is mint, the other lavender) for the last several years and am not tired of them yet. At 5'7" I am not petite, but do have skinny arms/wrists. Perhaps the watch adds bulk I need in this area? At any rate, I'm a fan of the look -- I bet you could make it work.

Fossil has a whole range of what they are calling Boyfriend watches. I have one and I love it. It has a large face and a finer strap than a normal man's watch, but I love that it makes a statement and feels substantial on my arm.

Love oversized watches. Just replaced the rubber band with stainless on my HH 25 years old seiko divers watch. It's mine now. I also replaced battery/cleaned my very old timex (mans watch.) For Xmas I would like to have my gramps old gold tank retirement watch repaired. I have no idea where to get that done as I live in the country. I don't know if the oversized is just a trend but I'm never going back.

My only concern is having the band made smaller for my wrist and having to have it made bigger for a man wrist again. I guess I better put the links in a safe place I'll actually remember.

I think big watches are still on trend. I see a lot of them for sale, although few ladies in my area have adopted the trend. I actually see fewer and fewer watches as people rely more on cell phones.

At the first look, I didn't like over sized watches when my husband gifted me one for our anniversary. After wearing it to my arm, it looked awesome to my hand. From then, I started to wear over sized watches. Liked this watch and planning to purchase it for this Diwali.
