I think there are clear winners here based on the agreement from the hive! For the record, I am VERY in favor of keeping the rust shell (I would love to find that for me too), the Equipment shirt (but I love its shine -- personal taste), the bag (amazing) and the fawn CM sweater. Such lovely choices and they all look great on you!

Can you list finds for these items?

Thank you all! Such great feedback and honestly do helpful for someone like me, who sees the possibilities in everything and therefore trends to keep everything.

I also found it interesting that most people agreed on what to keep and get rid of. The slash neck CM sweater is going back for sure (though I love it!) And I'll try the grey pants again and make a decision. May also return the olive blazer as not everyone is sold on that one.

Viva - these were all Winners buys, so they are a season or two old and not linkable, alas (except for the CM sweaters.) Though you could likely Google search them and find them at a clear out price in the US as well.

Love the rust Theory blouse and the bag especially!

Thanks @suntiger! Got some good scores from Winners rust so I might do another session tomorrow.

I think my final decisions will be to return the grey pants and the olive blazer (too trendy for me.) Keeping everything else. May return the equipment Blouse too...

Thank you all for your input - so so helpful!

Late Roxanna, but FWIW:

  • R&B pants are begging for closed shoes! I don't love them though. Sorry to be the outlier. The fit is a little off - too long in the rise - and the direction of the pleats are turning inwards instead of outward.
  • Reiss pants not great. Return.
  • Funnel neck pullover looks a size small - the funnel is creasing along the collar bone, when it should be roomier. Fit is off.
  • Silk shirt - GORGEOUS and a perfect fit. But you don't love it so I vote return. (The pants in that pic are the bomb, btw!)
  • Rust tank = KILLER
  • Olive jacket = KILLER
  • CM fawn pullover - fabulous, and so is the bag!

Thanks Angie! Your input means so much. I will re-evaluate...never thought about that with the slash neck sweater. R&B pants would for sure be worn with close toed shoes (navy suede boots) but I will try them on and look at the pleats and the rise again.

Roxanna, thanks for the openness to feedback. It's all VERY subjective, and YOU have to feel great in the item. Not us! Try styling the R&B pants properly first, and with some toppers. The pleats are not a quality issue. I simply prefer pleats to direct outwards.

Got it. I'm always open to honest thoughts - and you and the community here are every so kind in your comments I will do that with the pants and repost! Not sure what toppers would go well though... Maybe shorter ones? Longer ones would hide my waist and be too much with the wide leg pants I think?

YES. I was thinking short toppers, or long coats! Try our gilet too.

Love that silk blouse on you. It goes well with your hair, IMO.

I feel I cannot relate to so many items being tried Roxanna, it’s the opposite of the way I feel I’m going these days? You look gorgeous in almost all of them, as per everyone above- especially the rust shell. And I *can* identify with enjoying a lot of choice, as I like that too, but if the choices are not going to work really well because there is something not quite right at the start, then that would be a waste in many ways. So it is good that you’re asking and weighing all the opinions. Sorry, I feel like I’m being a real downer and taking all the fun out of it I think doing Sal’s challenge in the past month has really made me so cautious on purchasing! I have realised there is only a certain number of items that I can own in order to get wears out of them- barring special occasions, which for any future “black tie” type events I will either wear the one dress like that I own, or might consider renting.

Totally get it, @Jenni. I have a large wardrobe and I love and wear everything. Different strokes for different folks

Jenni, Roxanna - regarding the large closet and editing or aquiring - KEEP and use THE GOOD stuff. If you have lots to choose from, there is no need to 'settle' for less than a '10'. REMEMBER THE HAPPINESS FACTOR for your individual items and your outfits. Honour the person you are with clothes and outfits you love - everyday. Don't feel bad about editing out things that aren't the best of what you own, or returning things that require compromises. As Angie says, fashion should be fun.

*stepping off soapbox*

Thank you for understanding Roxanna, nice of you. If you love and wear all of it, great.
Thanks Runcarla- nice soapbox!

Carla - airfare the soapbox add I need that reminder! The trouble is that I fall in love and see the possibility in everything. But a few days later often brings sober second thoughts. I will keep this in mind - that you for the reminder

Everyones different of course but I thought I'd chip in.
Rag & Bone wool pants - love
Reiss grey wool pants - dull and matronly
Theory silk shell - love the color and the slight metallic dash of drama
Club Monaco cashmere slash neck sweater - swamps your head and makes your neck look short (when its not!)
Blush silk Equipment shirt - too shiny and cheap
Theory olive blazer - I brought one almost identical and got alot of negative "going on safari?" comments. Its a bit busy for your frame
Club Monaco fawn sweater with woven detail - LOVE this on you, so elegant
Rust handbag - love, great color with your silver hair and a stylish shape and good size.

In the picture of you with the silk top, grey long cardigan and rust bag you look amazing. All the elements seem to work together including the shoes and hair.
