Outfit lab: interview 'fits?

So here are the EF trousers I got, paired with a few top & shoe options.
Also throwing in a shot with my black pants (that need to be hemmed and taken in a hit at the waist)

1: EF pants, White House Black Market silk top, Ted Baker loafers
2: EF pants, A/X knit top, Ted Baker loafers
3: maybe too casual? EF pants, vintage silk shirt, Hush Puppy shoes
4: as above but with gold Chinese Laundry flats, less casual but still ???
5: black pants, red top, black pumps

I have all kinds of necklaces & scarves. But it's freaking hot and I'm just not up for sweating right now LOL I also have not done any outfits with the new long sleeve tops for the same reason.

Any advice or feedback is greatly appreciated!

I like outfit 3 best - what about that, but with the silver shoes from outfit 1?

What sort of job setting is this? Office? I generally think sleeveless is fine but I did get in trouble for wearing a sleeveless top to my internship at a big insurance company (20 years ago...) so I don’t know if that might be an issue.

I also really like 3... but it is über hipster. The red top is spectacular with the pants.

I'm sweating just reading about your heat - yikes. Well, actually I'm sweating because I've been moving furniture around all day. Anyways - I agree with Greyscale that you really wear a wide legged pant well, and I'd love to see you pair them with a slightly more fitted top. Something that provides a bit of structure and shape. Is it too hot to wear a jacket to the interview? The silver TB loafers are my picks for your look here. Of course, all of this depends on what kind of position you are interviewing for.......

You look great in your blue trousers and silver shoes. I also like the red and the white tops on you, but for an interview it would be best to wear slim tops like those with a topper (even a very thin on, like a long silky shirt worn as a jacket). As a former recruiter I can tell you that showing to much skin (arms, shoulders, decolleté ...) or wearing tight clothes can be distracting to some people and unfortunately give a less than serious impression.

If it's too hot for wearing a topper, I suggest you wear a short-sleeved tunic blouse. A pretty, loose, non-transparent blouse (i.e. in white or blue or a print including blue) will look great with the elegant trousers and probably feel comfortable in the heat.

I'm just looking for part-time work, retaul; either in a produce department of a grocery, or clothes and shoes. Nothing fancy or formal. I did list my willingness to go back to being a stagehand, but interviewing for anything in event production would involve all black garments designed for dirty work.

Greyscale & Rachylou, #3 was the most comfortable (physically and emotionally)

Lisa & Cat, it's not brutally hot, but the humidity makes it ugly just the same. If it's early enough in the day, I could maybe do a jacket. I also have a very very lightweight cardigan I could wear, dusty pink (find); which would work with the white top, right?

I like 3 best, but in positions I know about, Cat’s advice holds true. I know nothing about the fields you’re interviewing in. If you don’t want to wear a topper, then go with 1.

It’s hard for me to visualize the topper you posted with the outfit in 3.

If it were me I would go for number three with a lightweight scarf and a some simple, conservative silver strings and bracelet/bangle.
I think because the blue blouse has a collar it’s conservative enough even without sleeves, given your very hot climate.
Always good to play it very safe for a job interview, imho.

Fashintern, JAileen, Jussie, thanks for the suggestions! I haven't had to worry about this sort of thing since I was trying to get into college right after I got clean & sober. The jobs I've had since then kind of fell into my lap, and didn't require professional attire, so I'm grateful for the help!

Also if it’s possible it’d be nice to have a touch of mustard in the scarf to tie in with the shoe colour..... sorry I’ll stop now lol

The pants look great on you. I have done hiring in healthcare related fields. I would suggest not wearing sleeveless tops for an interview. The Cat's advice about a short-sleeved blouse for your weather sounded good.

I like the idea of 3 with the silver shoes or the red, more structured top. I agree with lisap. Could you wear the jacket over your shoulders?

I like #2 best by far. FAB proportions on you. Blue and white is LOVELY with your complexion. Throw on a jacket and you're sorted.

Is there an outfit that feels the most 'you'? Feeling confident is important in job interviews. Wishing you the best of luck in this - any future employer will be very lucky to have you join their team.

Those wide leg blue trousers really suit you and I like the pointy metallic shoes with them as well.Howyou present yourself at interview depends really on the job as you know but I don’t think that you can go wrong with Angie s suggestion of a jacket,preferably a blazer style not a casual denim.lf it’s Uber hot then an unlined linen one could work.Good luck!

I like 5 the best, seems the most professional to me, plus silver shoes and silver jewelry to go with! 3 especially looks way too casual for an interview. But take it with a grain of salt since i tend to be dressier than average:)

I like the simplicity of #2 for an interview. I would wear a jacket to pull it all together and possibly a silver statement cuff bracelet to complement the shoes. I don't know if a scarf is needed or not. I would have to see that on. That might be too maximal, just depends on the scarf.
