Outfit for 24/4

Trying on an outfit for tomorrow. Any thoughts? I think it works both with the red boots and white converse. Which do you prefer?

Navy cardigan with rolled sleeves, colourful scarf, black skirt, black leggings. Red boots in #1, white converse in #2.

I think both are fun. I love the navy and black combination, and the scarf adds colour and pizzaz. Slight preference for the red boots because they kind of echo the pinkish red in the scarf, but the white Cons work too to my eye (and are a bit more Spring-like perhaps).

I prefer the boots. They bookend the scarf. The chucks on the other hand pull focus with bright white in an otherwise dark outfit. I don't hate it, but if it were me I think I'd try a scarf with a white pattern to balance it out.

I vote the boots. The sneaks are a bit stark with all the darkness of the rest of the outfit.

Looking pretty! I prefer the red boots because of what Inge said and because I want a pair, haha.

What do you think about using socks with the converse? It looks a bit 80's, but I like the look, I think the socks can work like a belt that unifies two different blocks of an outfit. Like a smoother transition. Just an idea! I do that sometimes

Thanks everyone! I wore the converse now doing a quick errand, so I'll take the boots tomorrow I also like that the boots pic up the red in the scarf!

Thanks for the ideas Dixie! I love the look in the first pic. Not sure if it's for me though... To start, I basically only have black socks! But I have a pair of blue knee high socks that I rolled down... Don't think I'll wear it, but it was a fun idea! #2 below.

Also, following approprio, I tried a scarf that is slightly off white with a floral pattern, to balance out the white converse. Any thoughts on this?

You're spot on about that scarf balancing out the converse.
I like the outfit with and without the socks, although with them it looks a bit winter-y. How's the weather where you live?

Spring is finally coming! All snow is gone and it's warming up. We have what we call "April's weather" though, always the chance of the weather changing drastically from one day to another... Can go from +15 degrees Celsius to -10 in one day... It's ok now though, sunny but a bit chilly!

I like #1 better, but I think that's because the cons are so high contrast. I like the juxtaposition of the cons, but would like them better in another color.

I actually liked the dark scarf with the clean white converse best. You don't have big flippers like me, so can do stuff like that. I like it because the white energises the outfit.

I don't like the book-ending with the white scarf as much, because I find it's compacting you down... tho the second with the gradations - white to white and grey to grey book-ending - that helps with balance.

I like the boots, but I have a sugar-eye for lace up boots, so that might be influencing my choice.

I like the boots best because the outfit looks more cohesive. My eye goes right to the white sneakers in #2. I would like 2 better with bare legs for less contrast between shoe and leg.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts! It's good to get some different impacts. I see what you mean with the white shoes being too bright with the outfit, but in a way I quite like it! I'll probably keep wearing both shoes with this outfit... I have another pair of converse though, navy with brown details, they might work with this? I can try them on tonight!

I like the first outfit, red boots, best, Karin, but the white Converse will work very well with the off-white scarf.

Karin, you look so pretty with these floral scarves framing your face. I'm adding my vote for the boots, mainly because I prefer the look of white or other light canvas shoes when paired with lighter-weight or lighter colour fabrics. So I think your denim and brown pair will work better with this cardi and heavier weight skirt. And I've said before how much I love your boots; so glad you decided to go with them. Have a fun weekend!

Yes, the red boots or the navy converse look best to my eye. I like the very first photo in your main post the best though as I like the boots and scarf together.
