If you're from southern or eastern Europe, you might be experiencing some fashion-related cultural differences in northern Europe, where local women (especially those in STEM fields) generally favor less variety and higher quality. This doesn't make them right, just different than what you might be used to.
For this kind of party, I'd think you could work a smokey eye, bare shoulders, boots, and plenty of bling, if you wanted. Really, as Ledonna said, wear whatever you like and be true to yourself!
