Out shopping: WIW and WIBought

I had the day off today and my plans to go hiking were derailed by a cold snap. Brrr... I consoled myself by doing some (mostly window) shopping.

1) What I wore:
Eliza J cobalt dress
Hue grey leggings
Green fluevog flat boots
Pink/grey pashmina
Plum trench

No one got to see my dress except me (in various fitting rooms) but I enjoyed knowing I was well dressed underneath my trench.

2) What I bought:

The purple silk tunic I tried on at the Jigsaw store and left behind went down in price *and* was available at a US store near me. Yay! Here it is styled with the green moto skinnies and flat metallic sandals.

Leftmost view shows sandals and self tie (way too high up)
Center and right views show it with a wide black belt.
The sleeves roll up too.

I also tried on some fabulous Fluevog boots but I didn't get to bring them home with me. *sigh*

Very nice new purchases. I really like it with the wide belt how. I hate self belts. They never fall in the right place on me either.

I love the dress/boots/trench combo. You look very polished! I'd probably opt for a less pink scarf with the burgundy trench though (that's my low contrast side coming out.) Love the tunic blouse. What does it look like surrendered? Do you have a low slung belt? The blouse is gorgeous and the color divine.

I think that blue dress is a beautiful color! The tunic looks great the way you've styled it but I'm not impressed with the belt it came with.

In my computer the tunic doesn't look purple but I like the fit and the idea of paring it with those pants. Would it be light enough to wear with white jean in the spring?
The Eliza dress looks great on you and envy you that trench.

Thank you all for your feedback. I was a little concerned you were too polite to tell me my new favorite tunic was a mistake.

@modgirl and Sara L: Completely agree on the self belt. I don't know why they even bother wasting the fabric.
@kellygirl: I knew I was going out on a limb with the pink scarf since I'm a little tired of my black/white scarf. Clearly this means I need more scarves. Between the short waist and womanly hips, I was afraid to surrender the waist or wear the belt lower. I'll try it out in the next few days and post for forum commentary.
@Angie: Closeup of sandals attached. Do I need something heeled/strappy? I will try hose next time with the dress. I wore the leggings for warmth but tall boots cover enough of my leg that I probably didn't need them.
@Celia: White bottoms are a great suggestion. I'm still looking for that elusive pair that fits and isn't so thin you can see the pocket fabric.

Sandals are PERFECT! Thanks for the close-up. It's amazing how shadows can do all sorts of weird things to photos.
