Got these Gentle Souls OTK boots for less than a pair of Report booties. I had a pair of GS once years ago and had a saved Ebay search going for the soooooft footbeds.

These are not quite as fitted and sleek as Stuart Weitzmans, but they are dang comfortable and the deerskin lining is supposed to breathe better than cow leather.

Are they simple enough for 00noir? I know Angie has some OTKs, so I'm hoping they might be considered modern classic?

I think they look really simple and sleek. I feel like OTKs are surprisingly versatile. They make simple t-shirt and jeans look awesome, and look good with an LBD too.

They look very sleek, Rae. I really like them on you. What prevents the top portion from flaring out? There doesn't appear to be a buckle or anything (just curious.) I could definitely see a secret agent wearing these!

Kelly, they do flare a teensy bit when viewed from the side... Tried to show that in pic 5. It isn't too bad.

I think that's fine as long as they are structured enough that it won't get worse. That's the only thing that I would worry about. They seem like they would work for work too--you can look all secret agent and cool at Nordies. Here in the suburbs, not so much. DD's would DIE if I wore those LOL! I will enjoy this OTK look vicariously.

I love them on you. I just saw that the Stuart Weitzman OTK boots were top sellers at Shopbop , now, even in July. That surprised me quite a bit. Not sure if that has anything to do with how great these look on you. It's just the two bits of OTK info that crossed my path today!

eta -- and I agree with Sharon's comment. They add instant style and there's something very alluring about them.

i think these are great, and am looking forward to seeing how you style them. i have a pair of boots that are similar, and other than with leggings, i struggled to style them. so i plan to copycat some of what you do.

I think they look fantastic on you. Test drive them around the house to see if they fall down, sag, or start to flare out at the top with a bit of walking, sitting, etc. OTK seem to have a bit more potential to shift with wear, in my observation.

I struggle to style my SWs a little bit, but I think it's mostly because they tend to highlight the thighs -- a part of my body I'm not particularly comfortable with. I stick with very low-contrast dark skinnies and even then feel a little conspicuous. I've even wondered if I should sell mine because of it.

I think their simplicity and elegance counteracts the otk edginess. Envious!

I have a pair of GS sandals and will definately be considering them for more footwear as the comfort is huge. I love the OTK look on you, a fun mix up from your shorter boots. The flaring out isnt too much IMO. Looks great 00Noir!

I don't see OTK boots as becoming a modern classic. But those ones are indeed sleek and fit you well.

Thank you for bringing up the flare, Janet! They are starting to do this after walking around. Not really visible from the front, but it is annoying me now. There is plenty of room for me to do without the back slit... maybe I will have it closed up, so it lays flat all around like a SW boot.

Janet - IKWYM about the SW OTKs. I have some and have only worn them twice - 3 years ago. I am self conscious about the thighs that erupt from the top *sigh*

Wow, I'm really surprised how different the top looks after walking around a bit. I really like OTK boots and like these for you if you do in-fact have the gap closed up.

Ugh, I just stepped on our shorter carpeted area and noticed there are aftermarket heel taps someone added to combat pronating. Trouble is I pronate the other way, and my ankles roll even more with these on. Contacted the seller before I look into closing the backs up.
