If this is during the day, tea and chocolate are good stress relievers. I will also start to chew gum like a fiend. If this is evening, wine or herbal tea work well.

What a great thread !!!

Julie I've had a little practice with this in the past fortnight!!! (Who knew your car dying and having to be replaced right at the busiest time of the year would be so stressful LOL)

I've been enjoying lots of mindless TV, or reading, before crawling into bed early and sleeping as late as possible.

And food... anything, everything - you name it, I've been eating it!! Chocolate, biscuits, crackers and dip, savoury, sweet... I ate 16 profiteroles the other day *blush*....

But, this weekend is the first I've had without the girls in a month, so I spent the morning tidying/cleaning and doing some jobs, had a little midday nap, mowed the yard this afternoon, then had a long shower where I exfoliated/washed/de-haired etc everything and am now relaxing with the laptop, a nice cold beer, just finished some lasagne for dinner and am heading to the kitchen for more snacks soon!

It's AMAZING how much better I feel now!

But, I'm going to try and incorporate some of the less unhealthy ideas here (like herbal teas and beach walks!!), next time!! So thanks for sharing girls!

Thank you for sharing your de-stress methods, there are some very common themes. Thank heavens these days don't roll around too often!

Settling down to watch something with Corey will do it sometimes. But if on my own, I turn consistently to a scalding bath scented with either lemon or lavender bath oil. Follow it up with a cup of peppermint or chai tea (loose leaf), crack open the window, pile on the blankets, curl up with a book and drift away.
For weekend relaxation, I love taking a long shower and going through my complete facial care regime, which involves steaming and a clay mask.
Not a lot of workout fiends among us, I see.

I swim. Nothing makes me feel better than a long pool session. It's the ultimate meditation - I concentrate on my breathing, and if I am feeling stressed I don't push myself to swim fast, just to glide along in the water. If I am near the ocean a swim there also does wonders.

Failing either of those two; a hot bath, clean sheets and a crossword.
