I was reading Una's post about choosing a hairstyle and thought you might like to try the in style hairstyle "try on" web site or app. Here I am considering bangs and straightening my hair. If nothing else my daughter and I were in hysterics for about an hour doing this!
Ps...not gonna do it.
Pss...no makeup in these silly photos. Now you've seen me at my worst and I have no reason to cut my head off in future outfit posts.

We are curly hair people here. I have curly, but fine, hair and my oldest daughter has the most beautiful thick, curly hair. Some times I think we are limited by styles but other times I think we have it made. We read the "Curly Girl" book and got some ideas in there.

A few weeks ago I tried on a play wig and howled with laughter at how I look with straight hair. I must try that site.

Have you thought about pic 3 but shorter, like an angled bob?

If you straighten your hair, your face will look slimmer and longer. If that is what you are looking for, then go for it. If not, think about getting shorter and/ or layers around the face.

The heavy bangs on pic 2 is another way to break the length of the face, but it's a trickier look to pull off, and a big risk if you don't like it, because those bangs take a long time to grow out.

There is a big difference in look between the heavy bangs with layers around the face (think Goldie Hawn) and the straight "smile" shape heavy bangs (I Love Lucy). Either require maintenance, especially if you hair is naturally curly. You will have to flat iron it daily eventually as it grows.

I love your curls, too, but I'll bet playing around with that app was so much fun. I wonder if I can get it for an android? I have a teenaged daughter and this could be hours of giggles for us!

I'm sure there are plenty of styles that will look good curly OR straight, in case you just want to straighten it occasionaly.

PS Your "au natural" look is just fine, no worries.

I don't know what the app that was used is, but if anyone is interested, you can also do this at taaz.com. It's really easy and a lot of fun (you can also play with different hair colors, which I love doing).

I love cirly hair! I think its great the way it is. I have stick straight hair and used to do perm when I was younger. My daughter has thick curls and I hope she ll love and embrace them when older :). Its a lot of work though... Whats the app? I want to try too!

I never think websites that do that look very nautral regardless. You could always straighten your hair without the blunt bang, brush some hair forward, fold in half and see what you think. Bangs like that require a lot of maintenace though unless you plan to trim yourself. Orrrrr i read in a magazine once that you can try those bang extension things to see what it looks like before you commit. The main girl from Glee did that before she got her new haircut.
