My new bag has also spurred me to try the JCrew two-toned silver/tan loafers, which I've ordered (30% off). The SeaVees were new earlier this spring.
For someone who doesn't think about bags and footwear, this has been a bit of a revelation. I think the new bag (which I love, by the way) has just opened a door for me. You'll notice that none of the tans really match, but I am enjoying the light/light thing.
Oh, I hope those loafers work out for you, they look soooo versatile!
Isn't it interesting how one item CAN open a door. I've had that happen as well... a new colour, or shape, and a whole bunch of other things, new and old, come out to play.
Those loafers are gorgeous, I hope they work out for you. I have a pair of two toned loafers in light blue and find them very versatile.
Very interesting observations about needing light shoes with the tan bag. I generally find myself gravitating to lighter colors in both shoes and bags in the spring and summer and the colors don't have to match at all.
I love the idea of silver and tan now ! You've totally sparked up the forum this morning, miss We are just emerging into light-coloured shoe/bag weather this week, so my interest is piqued. I love my winter version of the RM bag, and now think I need this summer one. Thanks a lot.
Love the idea of those loafers and hope they work out. I agree that often just one item can really make a difference. My blue handbag, sandals and slip ons are making spring dressing feel easier and a little more pulled together. I still feel fine carrying the blue bag with my other shoe colors too - mostly taupe, tan, neutral tones.
I love the silver loafers! All my colors used to have to match perfectly, even the hardware on shoes and bags had to match and now I love mixing metals and coordinating colors, not perfectly matching them.
Lovely! Light neutrals - I will remember that. The SeaVees are fantastic. Hope they all work out for you.
I have reserved a pair of light neutral Chelsea boots to try on in a shop in London later this week - in light khaki. I don't know if it came from browsing the forum, but I realised all my summer shoes tended towards dark or bright and I wanted something softer.
