OT:Can you top my weekly laundry total?

A few weeks ago I decided to tally up how much laundry my household produced. The answer? 16 full loads of my 7.5kg front loader. All line dried (not all hung out by me though, as that week included a visit from my very helpful m-i-l) At least one load a day mostly bedclothes from younger members of the family.

So can anyone top 16 loads a week?

Do the people who create all of this laundry at least help to wash it? Hubby works from home and does all of the family laundry during his work day.I guess I'm lucky, I don't even know how many loads/wk he does.

My boys do their own laundry, but I'm sure we do close to, if not, that many loads between the 6 of us. I'll have to start counting.....

I didn't know how much I did either. I think I would have guessed about 10-12.

My three little girls do help a little from time to time but it is mostly me who does it!

We have a household of four people, and I think I average about 8 loads a week, including sheets and towels. Being a SAHM, I do all the laundry, but I do insist on having the clothes properly prepared (e.g., socks uncuffed, jeans buttoned and zipped) by those who wore them!

It's just me and the BF. 2 to 3 loads per week is all. As kids, both my brother and I had to do the family's laundry for a year at different times for punishment. I think it was more a life lesson than actualy punishment, but I am still amazed when I hear of college aged people who've never done their own laundry. Really?

Whoa! That's a lot of laundry!
We average about 10 loads, but I don't have to do it alone. The kids do their own laundry (including bed linens), and so does hubby.

Mo I can remember prekids doing 2 loads a week for the 2 of us too! Though while I was a pregnant even that got difficult. Our block of flats did not have power in the laundry and to use the machine you need to run a long extension cord from your flat to the outside laundry. Then the door got jammed and to get into the laundry at all we needed to climb in the window!

Anne, I just remembered the neighbors I had next door in the 70's. They had 8 kids and had to eat in 2 shifts - I'll bet they had a lot of laundry, not that I thought about it back then.
I gotta say, hooking the machines up to extension cords sounds like quite the crazy challenge just to get clean clothes. What about bad weather??

I will bite the hands off of anyone who tries to do laundry in this house who's name does not happen to be Nicole. I have lost one too many articles of clothes from people trying to be "helpful" yet unable to read a garment tag....

*ahem* anyways, i have no idea how many loads we could do....I try to get a few in each weekend for my family members as it takes me quite a while to run out of things to wear.

This makes me feel so much better about our laundry! We don't have a washer or dryer, so we go to the coin wash once every 3-ish weeks and do about 8 loads each time.

Wow! I only do 1/2 a load a week But it's only me.

With just me and my husband I usually do 5 smaller loads, mainly to separate various colors (white, light, dark, black, jeans; sometimes reds and blues).

EDIT: I also do it every 2 weeks most times or it's just not worth the water.

We are at 3 loads every 2 weeks (a house of three). We create alot less laundry since we use the laundromat and are cheap lol

Before kids I always thought that a baby can't cause that much laundry. What were the moms talking about. Can't be that hard to toss in a few onesies with the rest of the laundry, right? Haha. Now I do two loads a day except for the weekend when I do one load. Most of it is my own clothes because I always have spit-up, mashed banana or glue and watercolours all over me.

Right now I am doing a lot of laundry, but then I have a puppy who is still working on being potty trained. I'd say normally we average 3 or 4 loads per week. Right now seems like I'm washing something every other day. Silly puppy.

I LOVE laundry My boyfriend isn't allowed to wash girl clothes anymore after we had a few mishaps with putting things in the dryer that need to be air dried etc. However, he may wash boy clothes (but rarely does because I stay very on top of the laundry).

I wash one load of towels, one load of sheets and other white cottons, one or two loads of colours (lights and darks) and one (small) load of Lululemon gym gear (because it's really expensive and washing it with other stuff makes it pill).

Every other week I do an extra load of workout towels. Most delicates are handwashed or put on a delicate cycle as needed.

Um, I have no idea! DH does it all (well, except for cloth diapers, but we're working on potty training so we're not using those anymore).

I don't mind doing laundry, as we only average 3 loads a week when it's just me and my husband.

Now, when his sons stay here it's another story. Ugh. How exactly does one manage to get white socks to be black on the bottom?

Aside to Megan: I LOVE my Lululemon gear! You're right, it's pricey, but I have a jacket I bought three years ago from them that I have worn and washed countless times, and it still looks brand new.
