OT: WLS support - which scale?

I left my good scale behind in CA and don't have a good scale here in Chicago. I'm planning to get one at Target tomorrow, but am wondering if you can recommend a good brand and/or model?

I don't care about any fancy features, I just really want consistency. I can't spend more than $40...

I'm really concerned that my weight is going to be off because I'll be using a different scale! Sigh.

I got mine at Target- it was on clearance and I think that I paid around $25. It's a Taylor lithium, and I haven't had any problems with it. I've only had to change the battery once in a year and a half and I use it every day. It weighs to the tenth of a pound, I think.

Thanks Khris! I've had scales in the past that would show one weight, and then a minute later a different weight. I don't want that!

Marianna, if you have a couple of free weights lying around, you can weigh them to see if the scale is accurate.

I vote Taylor Lithium too. We have a few of those and they are very reliable.

Okay, I got a Taylor Lithium and it has polka dots on it! I weighed Gertrude to make sure it's accurate and it read 9 pounds which is more or less correct!

and I never in a million years would have thought to test a scale with hand weights.... some people are just too ingenious!!!!!
