OT: will be in Boston 6/1-6/5. Any YLF'ers available to meet?

My husband has a conference in Boston in June. I did not want to spend my birthday ( June 4th) alone so bebe and I will be accompanying him.

Staying at the hilton in back bay. let me know if any of you would like to meet for a drink/snack/ outing?

Since I have my 6 yr old along with me shopping for clothes is likely not on the agenda!

aww, Sona, bad timing! I'd love to meet you and bebe but that coincides with my college reunion and a trip home. You get there the day after I leave and leave the day before I come back.

I will probably be around! There is a remote possibility that I may go to NJ that weekend, but it's unlikely as I do not really want to go to the fiance's college reunion (OT: C1, I think it's the same one as yours but different year). I'd rather hang out with you guys!

Diana, I always have pity for the spouses/significant others at Reunions, it's mind-boggling and overwhelming even for someone like me who went to that school (but also fun).

C1, I have never been to one of the reunions. I'm scared of them. =P (Last year was a "big" reunion, but i had the excuse that mine was the same weekend.)

Sona, sorry for the threadjack! Sunday would work for me. Is there anything in particular that you want to see/do in Boston? Just off the top of my head, if the weather is nice, maybe brunch/lunch, then a stroll down Newbury and the common/public garden? Or if you guys want to come out to my neck of the woods, i could show you around harvard square?

Oooooh Diana both options sound awesome. On sunday would bebe and I be able to use public transportaion easily enough to come to Harvard Square? Hubby is in cofnerence all day sunday so we are up for anything! Mochi?

It should be pretty easy to take the subway to Harvard square from back bay, barring some weird last minute replacement bus service or something. I think you'll also be walking distance (or very short cab ride) from Newbury street too if you want to do some window (or more serious) shopping.

I could probably meet up on Sunday. I have some weekday flexibility too. Harvard Square is easy to get too, and Newbury Street is very close to me. Depending on what time of day we would be eating (lunch/dinner) I can try and come up with some fun places to go (input or suggestions from others would be great, too!).

Mochi, Diana: lets do newbursy street. brunch? I'll be with my six year old... we can do some clothes/jewelry browsing... but my daughter has some but not a lot of patience with shopping. If there are any stores that are novel to Boston or fun for kids too that might be an option. Just would like to meet you guys!! I am vegetarian
( including no dairy) but have recently started eating seafood to help my hemoglobin! My DD is non fussy and eats most things without a fuss!

I won't be there, but if you're going to be lunching on Newbury, I recommend Piattini Wine Cafe (has great pasta and sandwich type food, not just wine) and is relatively inexpensive for Newbury St. I'm also vegetarian (though I eat dairy), and I found that I had plenty I could eat there. The dairy thing might make things a little bit more complicated, but I think many of the dishes could be made without added cheese.
