Oh gosh-- so far so good (ditto to the wood bit) but in years past I've dealt with reactive eczema that would create big swollen welts everywhere that I'd had a break in the skin (so all over my legs from ingrown hairs and shaving irritation, and in both my elbow pits where I had blood drawn, and on the backs of my hands-- ditto, and on my face) that scarred. Two years later the scars are finally fading, but every hint of it coming back has me running for the steroids.
Then last fall I moved house and thought that I had gotten bedbugs as I had horrible mosquito-bite like welts on my legs in lines.
No, turns out I am horrifically allergic to a bio-identical hormone that is used to treat a side effect of my heart condition. Apparently the allergy is so rare they had to call the Mayo to find out about it-- that and have me take my pants off in front of at least 7 different Docs, nurses, PhysAssistants, interns, ect.
Of course, those hives also left hyperpigmentation and I looked crazy for months. It also took several weeks to flush the crud out of my system.
I hope you ladies have better luck! but believe me, I sympathize.
Just don't scratch it-- it isn't good for you, and it is one of the only sounds on the planet that drives me crazy-- courtesy of sharing a room with my younger brother during the years he used to scratch his skin bloody in his sleep because of eczema and dry skin.
