It seems we have a lot of talented singers on YLF! I love singing but generally sound as though someone is killing a cat, so I keep it contained in own house only
My Christmas music is varied, and probably changes a bit each year. Long-term faves are:
Classical: Handel's Messiah (obvious but still wonderful! I usually end up going to a performance of this sometime over the season- last year my sister and I went to one at St. Martin's in the Fields in London, and it was wonderful!)
Pop: River by Joni Mitchell (prob. my all-time favourite Christmas song, and I relate to the lyrics even more since I moved to the UK), also Christmas Eve in My Hometown, the old Bobby Vinton version
Hymn: No Crowded Eastern Street (I'm a Christmas Eve only church goer, but I love the caroling at my Mum's church. This is a extremely obscure Canadian hymn that's been my fave ever since I was little. They only sing it every four years or so, though- I'm sort of hoping it won't appear this year, because I'll miss it!)
