OT: What to do on a 7-hour layover at Heathrow airport

I'm hoping that one of you ladies might have a brilliant idea on how to spend 7+ hours at Heathrow on Sunday (is going into London an option)?

This is the layover to Cape Town, right? We know it well. (Although now, our layover is only 90 minutes). Drop off your stuff at the transit luggage counter and go hands free.

We would hop onto the Heathrow Express and head straight for the High Street. Grab a cuppa and a pastry, the paper, relax and wait for things to open. It’s VERY worthwhile doing this. Check if things are open in Covent Garden on a Sunday too.

Oh, my. 7 hours at Heathrow sounds like my personal version of hell, so I definitely vote for heading into the city! It might be tight because Heathrow is quite far out, but you should be able to get some sightseeing or shopping in.

The Heathrow Express will deliver you at Paddington Station, which has 4 Underground lines. Would you prefer to do shopping, or sightseeing? You're close to Hyde Park there if you fancy a walk in the fresh air, or you could jump on the tube to High Street Kensington- lots of shopping, and a nice part of town to look around.

There's a great spa at Heathrow. I got a massage once (was very good) and a power nap another time. They also have mani/pedi, facial, shower, etc. services.
