OT - What celebrity have you been told you resemble?

Last night my husband and I chilled out at home and found ourselves watching Dancing with the Stars -- not a show we usually watch, but we were having fun with it. As Kirstie Alley danced up a storm, we were commenting on how, no matter what she weighs, she looks fantastic at 60! I remembered that she was the first celebrity anyone told me I resembled, back in the Cheers days. So it was funny to go down the list of who I've been told I resemble, at one point or another:

Kirstie Alley
Susan Sarandon
Courteney Cox
Deborah Messing
Zooey Deschanel (uh, yeah, if I were 20 years younger!)

All flattering, but some I can see more than others!

Laurie Metcalf and Joan Cusack, neither of which I find particularly flattering, but what can you do. I like to think I'm a more attractive version of them!

I can't remember receiving such a comment but I did hear a lot of times that I seemed familiar from people I hadn't seen before
My cousin though looks like Penelope Cruz

Meryl Streep, Renee Zelwegger, and more recently the actress from Sideways - Virginia whats-her-name. All very flattering :D.

...no one. One time someone told me i look like a cabbage patch kid. Does that count? XD

I remember years ago being told that I look like Mary from Little House on the Prairie. Years ago after a new perm a friend told me I looked like Lucille Ball. LOL

Angie gave me Anne Hathaway a while back. Maybe if she sat in a tanning bed for several hours and dyed her hair black...but still...I could only wish! We both have large features but my large features include my nose :p

The owner of the company I work at thinks I look like Lea Michele.

Several people over the course of several years have said Penelope Cruz. But I think this is more dependent on my hair than my face.

No one. People only ask "what" I am (ethnicity). I guess there are no Lithuanian-Hawaiian celebs out there.

A lady at my workplace swears that I look just like a character from Warehouse 13 - a show that I haven't seen yet. I'm pretty sure she means this redheaded character.

Janet, funnily, I also get told I look like Zooey Deschanel. Before I even knew who Deschanel was, I was stopped by two women at Midway who asked me for an autograph. I said, "Sure. Who would you like me to pretend to be?"

(Midway is sort of the down-market airport in Chicago, so when I told the story to a friend of mine, he said wryly, "Because everyone knows the stars fly Southwest.")

It used to be Lady Diana, but in recent years it's consistently Nicole Kidman. I don't see it, I guess it's the strawberry blond hair and freckles.

I used to weigh a lot more and have gray hair, and people said I looked like Paula Deene. No disrespect to her, but it was a pretty big motivator to overhaul my look!

It is funny because we had a course where they ran us through facial recognition software (forensic anth) into a database made up of our profs and some celebrities . . . I always ended up with asian celeb matches, although I don't look asian at all . . . or had random male matches once we took the sex filter off. I also got Q’Orianka Kilcher from that little exercise, but that doesn't seem right either.

My mother says Natalie Portman, but my features are nowhere as fine as hers, although we have similar coloring.

IDK, I don't think there are a ton of Chickasaw, Cherokee, Italian, Black Irish, Welsh, French, German-from-Russia, Slav mixes running around.

Rae - what a cool 'combo' :). Lithuania is on my list of places to see....as is Hawaii!

Steph, you DO look like Zoe Deschanel, and you are both gorgeous.

Mary, you look a lot like a YLF celebrity, that Mary girl with the coloured pumps :).

When my hair was longer I used to get Andi McDowell and Kim Delaney (NYPD Blue) - purely for the curly hair!

Janet -- I would add Elizabeth Taylor to your list.

For me -- Natalia Makarova, a Russian ballerina. According to my dance teacher in the 70s.

More recently, Sissy Spacek. From a riding instructor, I think this was his ice-breaker line. He told everyone they resembled some celebrity or other!

CocoLion, that is so weird you mentioned Elizabeth Taylor. My husband emailed me a picture of her in her younger years and asked if anyone had ever told me I looked like her. I laughed, and said, "You must still be blinded by love, even after 13 years together!"

So, wow, thank you.

I can see the Sissy Spacek resemblance a little. I've always liked her. She was great in her recent role in "Big Love." Did you see "Get Low" with her and Robert Duvall? Wonderful movie!

Several people told me I looked like Lucy Liu. I think maybe cause we're both Asians. I don't really see it.
