OT - The Closet "Befores"

And this is why I am redoing my closet.This is the sum and total of the closet space that I share with my husband in our 4 season climate. I obviously need help!

The wall on the left is going to be two levels of rod hanging and a small area for hanging dresses. Straight ahead is going to be a wall of shoes and on the right I am going to have several tie organizers that I will use for scarves, belts, necklaces and bags. The project will start in a few weeks when my contractor becomes available.

The closet of my dreams is in a bigger house but this will have to do! I love my little house but living in a small space poses it's challenges.

It's going to be so SWEET when it's done, Rita! You will actually love putting your things back in the closet. One thing I did, after hearing about the hangers my friend liked (she detested anything but black hangers), was that i went and bought those great-looking Real Simple black thin hangers from B, B & B and I love them as they give my closet a clean and sleek look. Just a thought on finishing touches.

No way is that enough closet space for 4 seasons! It's funny, I thought you had a fairly large number of clothes, but looking at your closet I may have been wrong.

I haven't read the background of your closet project but:

How about purchasing a 36" clothes rack (or two). I got 2 at Lowes, I love them! I got the solid steel ones, they were around $75-100 each. They have bottom and top racks as well, and I also purchased covers but haven't ended up using them (yet). They also have inexpensive ones, but I was afraid they would topple over from the weight of my wardrobe.

ETA -- I should have read before I posted. I see what you are doing. Still, if you have a basement, these racks are great for off-season clothing.

They were listed at $69.99 but pricing varies, I thought I paid more and the canvas was $25-30.

Ooh, and I finally found some good smaller sized hangers for not too crazy a price! http://www.hotelsupplies-onlin.....s.htm#slim near the bottom is the 15" slimline walnut ones. Those would look pretty in your new closet
