Let's begin with the fact that Barcelona is a very casual city. People take care of their appearance, for sure, but in a very relaxed way. But my mother is just more casual than the average 50 year old woman. I love that about her -I love many things about her-, and I really like that she wears jeans, and colorful shirts and tunics, and comfy edgy Clark shoes. And anoraks. It's just that I'm so much more 'serious'. Today we were looking for coats and jackets for her -to escape from the anoraks- and I kept proposing things that I would gladly wear myself and that she found too serious for her given her wardrobe essentials. Really, I'm the one wearing black riding boots, skirts, coats, small silver jewellry, silver watch and button downs while she wears colorful hippy stuff and colored watches!! Sometimes I pick some earrings from her closet, but she never picks things from mine -except from what she's bought for me lol. I'm not complaining though, I would not like her to start buying black slacks and button-downs, it wouldn't suit her personality and her lifestyle.

Just thought I would share, and maybe I'm not alone?

PS: I do not dress like an old lady, I normally get compliments for what I wear from people my age!
