OT: Slight Update on DD

DD's pediatric Gi Specialist called this morning- her biopsy results were normal, but he confirmed the Acid Reflux. I swear he also said something about lymph nodes in her colon? Anyway, he is calling a prescription for Prevacid in for her, and she will be taking it for three months. Just wanted to give you gals an update.

Khris, thanks for the update! I'm so glad your daughter's biopsy results came back normal. Hopefully, she'll get some relief from the Prevacid. Please continue to keep us posted.

Thank heavens for normal results, Khris! Not getting the lymph node in the colon thing so please keep us posted. Can DD eat more of a varied menu yet?

Are there lymph nodes in the colon? I have no idea! Would that suggest a possible infection or inflammatory response?

Whatever, just make sure your doctor sends you a copy of the test results for your records.

Hopefully the Prevacid makes a big difference! It may take a few weeks; don't expect instant improvement. But she'll know if it is working. She'll start sleeping better first, and then the appetite comes back next.

Shiny- I have no idea! He said it very quickly and noncahlantly and then he was onto other things. I think he may have meant in her stomach? I will ask him when we see him again, but that won't be until September probably.

She's actuaually been feeling pretty good most of the time- she's back on an unrestricted diet and we are just trying to watch out for spicy, oily and fatty foods. They called in her prescription already, but the pharmacy sent it back because we need a pre-approval or something. Anyway, we should have it in a couple of days.

Khris, I'm so glad to hear you have some definite positive news. I grew up watching my grandmother suffer from all sorts of gastro-intestinal problems, and proper diagnosis is often half the battle (and sometimes even more). Keep us posted. Good luck!

Chewy there are def. lymph nodes all around the bowel - all around the body in fact. As long as they are belived to be "reactive" to some kind of inflammation there is nothing to worry about. Any kind of infection - viral/bacterial/or something more sinister - can cause a LN response. If that's the only thing being picked up that sounds pretty good!
