OT - Q re other fab posters online at the same time as yourself

Is it just me, or do you also feel a little warm fuzzy glow when you visit the forum and the names of your online Fab Friends appear on your screen at *exactly* the same moment as your name does? And in case you are wondering, YES, of course, I MEAN YOU!!! <giggle> I consider all the ladies on here to be friends, so please read this in the context of being inclusive of everyone! (Oh and feel free to say it's just me if it's true, I have been told numerous times that I'm "different, unusual..." )

I personally love it even more when I know that we are all online at the same moment, yet due to time zone differences, are posting during different parts of our day. I find it kind of surreal...

So, anyway, just thought I'd take advantage of this post to say.... HI!!!!! Hope you are having/had a great day!

Yes, when I see names online I often say a mental hi and wish I could drop them a message ala msn or googletalk.

I like it too. Although a lot of the time I'm online during Aussies evening when the forum is much quieter. Times like now when there 10 or so people online I simply can't keep up!!

Oh YAY - I'm so glad that you all feel the same way!

And I'm so impressed that the ever eloquent Michelle could articulate perfectly my whole little inner-voice "Hello X!" type remarks, that float through my mind when I see your name appear on screen.

Sometimes, in fact, I almost feel like my brain has chanelled that nostalgic series, The Waltons, with all my "Night Ma; Night Pa; Night Billy Bob; Night Billy Jean...." stream of inner-commentary that occurs as names appear and disappear on my screen!

(Hmmmmmmm, OK, upon re-reading that last comment even I will admit that maybe that last comment is taking it just a tad too far. Oh well, it's good to be different, right?! <tee-hee!>)

Please help out someone who is still navigating the YLF world. How do I know/where do I look to see who else is logged in?

Hi Refugee!

When you are logged in and on the forum, to your right on the blue background ( towards the top of the page) is a little thing that says "Online" and underneath are the names of all the members logged on at that moment.

As I look at my screen, I can see a little section that says "Online" in pale blue with names of those logged into the forum appearing underneath it. On my screen this little section appears toward the top of the page, underneath an advertisement and just beyond the perimeter of the forum posts. Hope this helps (I'm a hopeless navigator, much to my disgust!).

Thanks Katiepea. Score! I see it now. This is very fun. How cool is it to know that a little girl from a small town in the US fly-over zone (the very middle of the country) is in the same place as new friends from the other side of the world (like you). Or other time zones, big cities, small towns, other countries. Just amazing. Makes me feel like I'm out for coffee (or a glass of wine depending on what time it is where we all are) with some of the most stylish women, ever.

Yes, I love it too. What I love is because of the worldwide geographic spread you get clusters of posts at different times. Aussies and Europeans in the morning, then around lunch time you start to get the East Coasters then moving on to around 3.30pm - 4pm UK time when Angie normally logs in and the first blog post comes up!

It is fabulous but I have to admit I do like my English morning session mostly no one else is online and I can go through all of the posts in one without others commenting and then I have to start again to read the new posts, but I do love my english evening slot when I 'see' everyone else about x

hehe KP you are so funny!! And you always brighten my day - I'm going to plan a trip to Brissy later in the year to see some other friends so I think we will have to have a little YLF meet up - you in?

I too love that feeling though - of knowing I can be part of a conversation with fabulous gals from around the world all at the same time.

I think you know you are addicted when you rearrange your day to be on YLF at ths same time as others LOL... I now do the school run and my morning chores and then making a point of sitting down with my mid-morning cup of tea around 10am ish just so I can be online and see what all the fabulous US ladies are saying!

Its funny, sometimes when I log on of an evening I feel a little lonely cos there's often no one else online, but like Louise said - you do get time to read the posts without getting distracted by new ones (I'm easily distracted though LOL!)

*Actually, is it going too far to tell you girls that when I first joined YLF I actually googled the time zones around the world and worked out what time of day it was in each of your areas - I now know that 4pm Aussie time is 11pm in Seattle*

Oh - tee-hee-hee! Can I just say that YOUR posts have made ME smile?! I'm so glad that you all feel the same way too!

And Theresa, ABSOLUTELY YES(!!!), you would have to count me in for a Brisvegas catch up, in fact I would do a huge almighty pout and throw a tantrum if you didn't. (I have seen my boys throw a LOT of these lately, so I believe that I could be quite impressive!)

I personally think if possible Spring, going into Summer would be perfect for a number of reasons, including:
a) Gives us time to check out what clothing styles and combo's the Northern Hemisphere ladies have worn to look so fab during their summer (and then pinch their brilliant ideas for ourselves of course! ;-));
b) it will give us (OK, me!) time to save up for a guilt-free splurge; and
c) it will be the holiday season - so what better reason to celebrate together?!

Katiepea, I didn't see this post last night when I was on and saw that lots of other YLF gals were on as well. I was thinking the same thing...excited to be at the same place with everyone! I thought about starting a thread just to say hi at that moment but changed my mind. Thank you for always being the perky cheerleader that you are! : )

Aww, KP you just made my day with your sweet post. Warm fuzzies all over I do love seeing who's online, it makes me feel like I am somehow "connecting" with that person, like a presence, almost physical. I already refer to you all as my friends when I am referring to something I read or see here. I'm going to take the IM idea a bit further and say I wish we could all video conference whenever we wanted A girl can wish!
