On a visit and I LOVE THE WEATHER OMG. I could wear my boots all year round! I'm wearing a A SWEATER and NOT SWEATING!

Maybe I could winter in Austin and summer in Portland...

Hee hee. My BF keeps swearing we will move to the PNW next because he hates the sun (he's a redhead). Ever seen the Portlandia show on IFC? The episode where they go to LA and come out of the car cringing under the bright sun exclaiming "why is it not covered in clouds?!?" is a favorite.

I loved it there, too! Good shopping and food, gorgeous gardens, and the weather agrees with me also.

Be sure to get a Voodoo Donut.

Yeah I used to live there. It's actually on average a bit warmer than Seattle in the summer. Too bad the job market in my field is incredibly competitive there.

I love living in Portland, but I might need to winter in Austin.
Mo, my redhead DH calls the sun "the bright thing" and carefully hides from it for the 3 or 4 months we can see it. He loves the weather here.

Ha! Fern, mine calls it 'the evil orb' - no kidding! Too funny. I lived in OR for most of a year 1996 and loved it. The BF almost moved there instead of Tahoe all those years back. Glad he didn't or we'd have never met.

Love Portlandia! Need to visit Portland - I'm the East Coaster who is currently smitten with Seattle and dying to see the rest of the PNW.

Funny - have a colleague in CA who can't watch "Portlandia" beause it "hits a little too close to home."

The bookstore? LOLOLOLOL.

Sounds like here. I loved visiting Portland (books! swap meets! coffee! hipsters!) but the weather was way too familiar. Enjoy!

OMG it is less than 80 degrees today. I've utterly lost the ability to dress for moderate temperatures. I could TOTALLY have brought the "fall" items I was dying to wear! Arrgh!

Heh - I thought of you, IK, this morning when it was cool enough for boots. I'm glad I didn't go there because it warmed up and, as Nadya says, we only get a few months for summer clothes.
Nadya, I'm stealing your "Fireball!" line - I love it.

Fern - I'm waiting for the Fireball to come out today :-)! Hey, by the way, I did check out Savvy Plus (and found a great pair of slacks) but haven't had a chance to do any other thrifting here.
