**Those of you who live in wet climates feel free to just laugh at me!!**
Normally our summers are long, hot, humid, but only occasional thunderstorms...
This year, it has been raining now for a good month or more already, and the prediction is that it will continue like this til March 2011. We have roads around our town closed due to flooding, and our annual fireworks display that takes place on the river has had to be canceled because the river is flowing too fast. Due to the location of the girls Dad's work, if this keeps up, he may not even get home on his weekends off to have the girls... the road is currently closed at the moment, and is one of the first to flood...
And of course, its still quite warm unless you are out in the middle of the rain (and even then its only just a bit cool), I'm living in my flip flops so I don't kill my other shoes, getting sick of my hair getting drenched and going slimey from the goop when I run from the house to the car, have replaced my 3rd umbrella for the season (learned my lesson and bought a heavier duty one this time LOL), and I'm thoroughly over carrying Georgie everywhere because she cannot stand getting damp feet or having to jump puddles LOL!
Oh and because my car is brand new, I am too scared to prop the umbrella on the roof and open door while I strap G into her seat in case I scratch the car ROFL!!
**Rant Over**
I honestly have so much more respect for those of you who live in wet climates now! And I've resigned myself to the fact that my flip flops are here to stay for the season, and I am not wearing white shirts or anything else that becomes see through, or takes too long to dry off!
Seriously thinking of buying a raincoat/jacket - but no idea what to even look for as I wouldn't want one of those hideous thick plastic yellowy ones - I'd be a sweaty mess in no time, and not to mention look rather *interesting* LOL.
Any other folk going through strange but hideous weather issues?
Any suggestions for coping with this? (Angie I think you need to do a blogpost on living in HK LOL)
Who does actually live in a really hot wet summer climate?
