I'm so glad, Victoria! Whew. Wear that sunscreen, indeed - you have such lovely skin!
I had a scare in college. I'd been in Hawaii and had sunscreen on, but was in the sun a lot. After swimming, my mom noticed a patch on my back that was bright red, about the size of your thumbnail, despite no burns on the rest of my skin. A day later it faded to be totally white. I was a bit worried, but my dermatologist diagnosed it as a halo nevus, and it's almost gone away.
BTW: I suffer from seasonal eczema, usually on my hands but occasionally on my face. Shea butter cream and lotion are *really* helpful - very moisturizing without irritating at all. Using jojoba oil to cleanse the makeup off my face at night has helped, too. (Just in case you were looking for remedies, though I'm sure your derm has some as well!)
