OT: MIL Update

MIL moved in on Sunday and things are wonderful. She and I have always gotten along very, very well. She's enjoying puttering in the garden while we're at work, and she and DS are bonding and enjoying each other's company.

She said the funniest thing the other day..."I've fallen in love with this show that I just started watching. Maybe you know it - What Not To Wear". Perfect! I've been telling her a little about YLF too and she's completely fascinated.

It's all good.

What great news. I am sure it was very difficult for her to give up her home and independence. She must have a wonderful spirit to be so open to the change. It is also nice for your son to have this time to get to know his grandmother better. Good all around and you really are a very giving person to have made it happen.'

What a wonderful update - I'm glad the move/transition is going quite well - so cute that your MIL is all about the WNTW show. Hate to admit, I have those queued up on my DVR, and every once in awhile, I watch a bunch of them, just for fun. Even my husband gets into it...not kidding! He's the least-interested-in-fashion person I know, and even he enjoys a round of WNTW once in a (rare) while. It *is* kind of fun.

Best wishes to you and your family - you're doing a really wonderful thing Shannon - your MIL is so lucky to you as her daughter-in-law.

Glad to hear. I will be in that stage in a couple of years I think. I managed to get my mother to move to Peterborough and into a more manageable house around the corner from me, but I don't know how long she will be able to live on her own there.

My in-laws also live in town, but I don't think I could hack living with them.

Oh, Shannon, you have a price above rubies! What a gift you've given your mil and your husband. And you're showing your son that love is an action verb, not a hazy feeling. That will stay with him his whole life. Blessings to you!
