I'm in the midst of planning a trip, at the end of May, to London for four days, before boarding a weeklong cruise to Spain and France. I’ll be traveling with my brother and mother, so we’ll need four nights and two rooms (I get Mom), before leaving Victoria Station to be transported to Southampton for the cruise.
We would like to stay in a nicely-appointed hotel, with a boutique feel or interesting B&B (even a two-bedroom, perhaps) over a traditional Marriott or Hilton, but we’re open to something nice, yet also budget-friendly. Of course, my brother, being in finance, never likes to pay retail, and is usually a master at finding special rates, “friends and family discounts” or coupons. We're hoping there may be some deals out there. Yes, we want it all: Value, quality, cool factor, etc. Since we’ve each only been there briefly, we’re not familiar with any choices at the moment.
It’s always nice to stay in a fun neighborhood with lots of little shops, cafes, markets, too. I understand that there are hundreds of places to choose from, and I’m just wondering if anyone has a favorite hotel or suggestion. I’ll be pm’ing Suz when she gets back and I've saved her thread on London eateries. Right now, it's finding a hotel. Fashion is next! Many thanks for any help...
