So happy to hear everyone is okay! Animals included.

Glad to hear everyone and pets are ok!!!

What a relief to hear everyone has weathered the storm for now!

Glad to hear everyone, their families, and animals are doing ok!

I kept checking the US newspapers online and this thread, and I'm very glad to hear everyone is doing alright! Thanks for letting us know!!

Maya: I hope there weren't any problems with your apartment?

I'm very glad to hear that everyone is safe!

We have been keeping an eye on the east coast--- yesterday my father cracked me up with his comments. He said, "It is crazy, isn't it? All these people's houses coming apart in the wind? We have 50-75 mph winds all the time and don't think anything of it!" Then again, the man shoots bombs and causes avalanches for a living.

Hope the damages are minimal!

Glad to hear everyone is reporting in with no major problems. Maya, I hope your apartment is okay when you return. DD just returned to NYC after spending the weekend with us, and I was happy to hear that she found everything just as she had left it..

My guy and I are in Paris but were told that two trees fell down at our house in CT. No real damage but only out of sheer luck. A tree fell right on the spot where we park - but one of our friends had the foresight to move the cars the night before! The power is still out and will probably be for the next few days - so we'll return to a freezer full of rotting meat

On a funny note, I bought a pair of shoes that arrived a week earlier than expected, and would have been waiting for me at the doorstep upon our return. I imagine they have gone on a Dorothy Gale'esque adventure. Alas, that's what happens when you break SYC!

Yikes. Glad to hear that all are well so far and that power is either back on or is being restored. GirlX, especially glad to hear that there isn't significant damage to the house and that the cars were moved in time! Beth, sorry to hear that things were worse than expected. Please check in and let us know how you are doing when you're able.

During the windstorm in Seattle a few years ago that Angie mentioned, my apartment (up at college) flooded due to super heavy rain that overwhelmed the drainage system, and large trees were falling on houses in my parents' neighborhood. They didn't have a tree on their house, but had some pretty heavy roof and window damage from branches, and the power was out for quite a few days. My parents said that hearing the high wind, heavy trees falling, and the huge branches hitting the house was pretty terrifying.

Eeep. I'm glad to see everyone checking in, and that things are more or less ok. I was thinking about all the East Coast YLFers over this weekend.

Beth and GirlX, hang in there!

I remember that Seattle storm. I have a friend who lost power for about a week, and they had to find a motel that accepted dogs. And down here we lost several wonderful trees, including one that fell on the house and barely missed the windows and somehow didn't break the roof.

So glad that you are all safe. Please keep us posted xxx

So scary! I'm glad you are all safe!

Glad everyone made it through safe x
