So many touching and hilarious stories.

I was a single parent for many years and my son was in his teens so I had far more free time than usual. Most of my friends were married and had children so didn't have a lot of free time. I friend was over one day and telling me about an online dating site he had joined. He wanted me to join to test a theory of his. I met a few people for first dates but the good part was that I met a group of single people in my age group who got together weekly for wings and drinks.

One of them arranged a cribbage tournament and I attended. That was the first time I met Tony but we didn't really chat much. We both attended another event a month or so later and on the way home were side by side at a traffic light. Turns out we live in the same area of the city. He e-mailed me to ask about family vacations since he has two children half time. He also went to a singles golf event and e-mailed me about golfing since I had taken it up the year before. We ended up going golfing together, and then many other outings. After about 6 months of being good friends we talked about dating. I was still deciding if I wanted to risk the friendship when I realized we had been dating for a few months already.

That was about 5 years ago. It is uncanny how many parallels there are in our lives. He said "um" in the car one day and i answered the question. We think alike and enjoy so many of the same interests that it seems "right".
