OT- HAPPY day!

9 months ago today my beloved Biscuit had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor on his side...the vet (and online info) said if he makes it 9 months with no signs of the cancer returning he is*cured!* We had blood tests done recently and NO signs of abnormalities!! So, YAY!

Thanks SO much! He's really our 'baby'....Ive had him since he was only 3 weeks old (abusive owner) and had to hand feed him with a dropper back then...he's also been thru 3 eye surgeries, so he is a tough little guy who still acts like a puppy at times! (he's 9 years old)

How absolutely wonderful!! At nine years old, he still has several good years ahead of him (just ask my former guide dog, who's going strong at 11.5)! Lots of hugs to canines and humans alike, and some doggy wags and comiseration to Biscuit from my Reva.

Oh, thank you, Michelle! Shar Pei's dont have as long of a lifespan as most dogs, usually 10-12 years, but I pray we have B for a long time yet! Hugs and wags back to Reva!

Oh, thank you for sharing your wonderful news! Over the years, my beloved cat has had a couple of growths removed, one of which turned out to be a benign tumor, so I fully understand your immense joy and relief. This is an occasion to celebrate, and it sounds like Biscuit is truly deserving of some celebration, given all that he's been through. Please give him a hug from me, and I wish you many more happy and healthy years together!

Thanks! Yes, he's had a rough time from the beginning...his mom had 6 pups, 3 were stillborn and the other 2 died from malnutrition and a uncaring owner (believe me, I didnt know until afterwards or I wouldve hand-fed all 3) then brought to us at 11:00 pm one night when he was barely 3 weeks old...terrified to this day of plates- I think she nearly suffocated him trying to force him to eat out of a plate (I STILL have to hand feed him every meal- and he's 9 yrs old!) and he had 3 eye surgeries before he was a yr old, later severely injuring (then re-injuring) his back leg in a wild jump attempting to get a squirrel, then severe allergies, then cancer...so he's been thru the mill ....but he's still a sweet puppy at heart!
