I got a call to be an extra in the movie I tried out for a few weeks ago. Of course, it was yesterday, the day I was exhausted and didn't shower. And I had two hours notice. They asked me to bring three casual outfits as if I were a tourist in Cairo. Then I sat around forever (like 4 hours) with a few other Indian people waiting our turn for a scene. The most exciting thing that happened was that Jon Voight came out and had soup with us around 6:00.
Then we did our scene, which involved sitting in a staged restaurant pretending to eat a burger and fries in the background of the scene they were shooting. They had to retake it about five million times because the main character is a 3 year old played by a 5 year old who was far more interested in eating fries than saying his lines. We got to meet the director, Sean McNamara (who directed Soul Surfer), and that was a wrap.
It was a funny and interesting experience but I don't think you'll be seeing me in Hollywood any time soon... other than maybe my right elbow and the back of my head!
