Ironic, isn't it?

Luckily, we can drive. Otherwise my hubs would miss his presentation. I KNEW there was a reason we were especially stressed out, though. Sometimes we have premonitions...

Oh no! That happened to me on the way to Italy, I had to reschedule a whole day of presentations. You can also take a train but that would be too long... I've done that drive before, it's tiring but not too bad. Good luck!

BTW, when this happened, I got a questionnaire from the airline asking about the experience, and wrote them a letter explaining how I had to cancel an important international meeting/presentation because of this. They gave me and my DH each a $200 voucher as a compensation. You can try doing this later.

Because guess what? My trip's entirely cancelled --- or rather, I just backed out in sheer frustration at the general lack of professional behaviour or basic courtesy and sanity!

Was it Air Canada flight? I read in the paper today that they are cancelling flights because of the servicing problms... I worry if this can affect my flight to Italy as well...I hop not because I cannot drive there
The silver lining for you is that you can get more stuff with you AND have a lot of room for your new purchases from NYC: no need to watch the luggage weight

Traveling is such a big hassle sometimes! I'm glad that you can still make it there on time. I like Sveta's idea of having more room to fit your purchases (no paying for additional checked luggage).

I am glad you will be able to make it for DH talk, how lucky that it was a drivable distance! I am with Sveta, pack more (although that is a beautiful capsule you put together) and shop like crazy!
