I hope you don't mind me being nosey and asking what your husband (given your description of him in the article) has to say about of your transformation? Do you ever train together? Given your strength, have you ever challenged him to an arm wrestle? I'd be pretty close to putting my money on you to win!
First, he's super happy about these changes (I call this my mid-life crisis sometimes - other people buy a Ferrari, I bought a handcycle and a racing wheelchair). We've had no stress or tension that you sometimes see when one partner makes a lot of changes.
We do ride together, although it's hard for him to go that slow (he rides circles around me waiting for me to get there). We sometimes lift weights together. He asks me for advice on form (!).
It's been interesting that as I've been getting stronger, he's actually seeing more age-related muscle loss (he's 67) and is started to get a little alarmed. So my curve is up, his is down, and we're getting closer to each other. I might actually be a better swimmer(!), partly because he's so skinny he's a sinker.
I have a 25 year old friend who has been battling MS for a few years now and wants to start exercising more; I am going to send her your article!
Oh, that would just make my day!
