OT: Ever have one of those weeks?

This has been my week to drop things in the toilet.

- The lid to my deodorant
- The top to my night lotion
- my iphone
- my TOOTHBRUSH

I'm wondering what stars are aligning to send so many sacrifices to the porcelain god...

Hmmm, I wonder if the deodorant lid got polluted or the toilet smells better.

I had a week where I dropped my phone in tephe toilet, then got stung by a bee. Yours trumps mine though!

You know what they say about keeping the lid shut on it? Keeps the germs in and the other stuff out!

Hmmm.... I always shut the lid if I'm not actually engaged in "activity". I heard once that flushing with the lid open spews microscopic droplets of "you know what" into the air. Ever since then, once I stand up, I shut the lid and then flush. That also makes sure the dog (furbaby) doesn't decide to try to use it as his personal drinking fountain. Sorry you had to drop those items IK! I guess the toothbrush is the grossest one but is replaceable. Did it damage the Iphone? I hear that taking the back off of the phone and placing the whole thing in dry rice actually dries things out nicely!

Yeah, we keep our lid shut also. One of our cats is inexplicably attracted to water and would no doubt get toilet water all over the house.

Oh no! I can't say I have ever dropped that many things in the toilet specifically, but I do drop/spill things (usually spilling on myself) frequently. I'm pretty klutzy.

That being said - this is probably REALLY stupid of me - but sometimes when I'm soaking in the bath I'll carefully browse through websites or read E-books on my iPhone. I know I'm risking it...

Haven't dropped anything in the toilet recently, but when Master 9 was a toddler he very kindly popped one of shoes in the toilet bowl. Apparently it was very funny...to him!

IK, next week has to be better right?

Oh no! Well, at least the toothbrush is cheaper to replace than the iPhone.

I'm having a crappy, crappy week too, although nothing in the toilet so far. My four-year-old has been really ill, and that always makes you anxious as hell. It turns out he has whooping cough, but he's on the mend now, thankfully. And then after four appointments this month to fix a front cap (two at the dentist, two at the dental lab to make sure the tooth matched the other ones), one of my back teeth cracked and needs a root canal and crown. Aargh!

I'll trade you your ruined phone and toothbrush for my $2500 molar.

IK, what a bad run

Elisabeth, that sounds really tough - whooping cough is so scary (there have been 17 confirmed cases in our area recently, and a teacher at school has it, so it is on my radar)
poor boy, and poor you to have to deal with on top of all the other worries you are having at the moment (I didn't get to contribute to that thread, but read it and have been thinking of you a lot). Will the expensive dental treatment mean no more new clothes for you for a while?
